I suspect that a huge proportion of these cases stem from major brain/mental illnesses (well yeah, since ALL transgender cases by definition are “mental illness”). BUT I mean also that someone is probably struggling with major biological illness of a more “conventional” kind such as depression, manic depression, severe ADHD, schizophrenia, etc..... since they struggle to make any sense of their inner experiences they are much more susceptible to grasping at extreme explanations for why they struggle and feel so horrible. The SJW/transgender warriors offer them this crazy explanation that they really have a “female” brain in a male body or vice-versa, and since nothing else has made sense to them they start down that path.
Just a wild loose type of hypothesis that should be researched.... I’ll bet there is huge overlap between the “transgender” population and various (other) mental illnesses.
