There’s an arrest recorded for him on my local PD’s website. The charge was “assault on a child under 12.”
I disagree. We don’t have whatever happened before the video rolls, but he is shoved from behind at 6s in, and I’m pretty sure it’s by the girl who keeps coming at him, that he punches out.
They started the fight, not him, based on what I see in that video.
These kids are feral. They'll stab you in the gut and not have a second thought about it.
She demanded a Man’s portion and got it. I saw a man surrounded by a feral mob. If there is any doubt that they were working themselves up to a mass assault what she did just before and after he shoved her dispels it. Expect more of this from kids, they’re educated to feel justified in their hate.
I vote for self defense. These kids are like a bunch of animals and need to be treated as such.
There is such a thing as asking for it.
He was surrounded by a crowd of screaming banshees who could stomp and kick him to death. Extricating yourself from that can be challenging.
He shoved the kid going after him out of the way, then she came back at him again. His response was a little over the top, but it sure got the crowd under control.
I think they were harassing him and did start the physical part. He answered with too much force is his problem, and there is a standard for that in the law.
Just watched the video...and 100% support the white dude for defending himself from the multiple acts of aggression by that feral animal.

He’d already been shoved hard from behind, and had a pack of kids surrounding him that could take him down. Taking out the leader of the ferals, who’s most aggressive, was likely the right thing to do to avoid a beat down.
Did you notice that liveleak disabled the comments? Disappointing because they would have been epic.
Retreat might have worked but turning your back on a bunch of lousy kids like that invites a knife in the back or worse.
Be nice to find out what started this encounter. That said, the guy has a good left hook.
I taught for many years in an urban high school. And most of the kids - black and white - were very nice. Pleasant and easy to deal with...when one-on-one. But the group dynamic was totally different.
Mob mentality is a dangerous thing. So if you can retreat, retreat. Standing your ground is a poor choice. Trying to reason with a mob, that’s also a poor choice.
Would like to know the full story here - how the guy came to be in that situation. Of course, that is unlikely to be revealed as it is much easier to make the white guy a villain who in your words "needs to be locked away for a long time."
Not that I am defending the guy at all, but looked to me like a group of “yutz” got a little to big for their britches... thought because they’re were kids (adults won’t touch us) and in numbers they had the advantage....

Yep. One must be very careful in situations like that. Talking and moving...that’s the best strategy, IMO.
And the talking shouldn’t be confrontational. You could talk (loudly) about your grocery list. Just keep movin’.

When surrounded and attacked (he was struck several times) by a pack of wild jackals, their age is absolutely irrelevant. I and any other sane adult with a normal instinct for self preservation would response the same - whatever the age of those attackers.
The reason little children in your day knew better than pulling that crap on grown men was because no adult would blame them for giving the punks a serious whooping.

Hopefully the judge will have some sanity and take the context of this into account.
