Actor Neal McDonough recently revealed the shocking reason he was fired by ABC from their hit 2010 television series, Scoundrels.
He refused to do sex scenes with co-star Virginia Madsen. Apparently being a one woman guy isnt a hip thing in Hollywood.
I was [surprised], and it was a horrible situation for me, the actor recently told Closer Weekly. After that, I couldnt get a job because everybody thought I was this religious zealot. I am very religious. I put God and family first, and me second. Thats what I live by. It was hard for a few years.
Deadline.com previously reported McDonough, now 52, was suddenly replaced with David James Elliott three days into the filming of the series and was poised to lose as much as $1 million in paydays. The New York Daily News added the networks decision to replace McDonough was a shocker because he is known for refusing sex scenes due to his religious beliefs.
At the time, ABC explained the move was simply a casting change.
McDonough has been married to model Ruvé Robertson since 2003 and the couple shares five children. McDonough told the magazine that hes so dedicated to his wife that he still refuses to do love scenes with other actresses.
I wont kiss any other woman because these lips are meant for one woman, he declared.
McDonough told Closer Weekly he had no regrets ditching love scenes with his on-screen wife Nicollette Sheridan in Desperate Housewives. McDonough appeared in that series from 2008 until 2009.
When [creator] Marc Cherry signed me, I said, Im sure you know, but I wont kiss anybody, recalled McDonough. He was like, But this is Desperate Housewives! I said, I know. He paused for about five seconds and said, All right, Im just going to have to write better. And we had a great time.
This McDonough guy is a class act, isnt he? Wow. To hear someone talk so highly of their wife and their family relationship who works in Hollywood is absolutely refreshing.
The entertainment industry has garnered a reputation for being a cesspool of liberal thought and belief, where being a person of faith or espousing conservative views could land you in hot water. The fact that there is an increasing presence of Christians in Hollywood, working in mainstream entertainment, is very encouraging.
Heres to many more happy, faithful years of marriage for McDonough and his bride.
That is altogether TMI about your relationship, there, bud!! ;)
That’s just freaky.
“Just watched him this morning this morning in the new ‘Project Blue Book’”
I knew I recognized that face. Watched that show this morning. I think the series will be interesting.
“Which is funny, because he played a homosexual criminal predator on the FX series Justified.”
two points:
1) HE WAS ACTING!
2) HE DIDN’T KISS ANYONE!
AMDG
She was great in several episodes of “Frasier”.

Yep. The thing about Band of Brothers, is how many of the actors, who portrayed the members of Easy Company, are actually Brits.
Well she is 57.
Be STILL my HEART!! A DECENT MAN IN HOLLYWOOD!! YEAH! PRAISE JESUS!
You are a good man. Stand tall.
Better yet, their wives should do a "fake" sex scene with a gorgeous actor. Then let's hear how it's "just acting." Honestly, this actor has morals (in an immoral place) and backbone, yet some here are questioning that?? Lord, come soon.
LOL! My thoughts too.

Wynn Duffy said he had a “big stupid baby head”.
Sorry, no sympathy here. It’s like taking a job with Raytheon and then refusing to participate in building bombs. They are paying him to act in a show. Acting like he’s having sex with someone is part his job. I would think he’d have known that ahead of time.
On the Last Day, he will be counted with the sheep.
Those who took away his livelI hood will be among the goats.
Don’t forget my favorite role of his, slight but important : DumDum Dugan in the Captain America stories.
Good for him! I refuse to watch scenes in which actors are simulating having sex. WAY too realistic for me, and imho, completely unnecessary. We watched movies for decades in which the sex act was only alluded to, instead of being on screen, and none of those movies were of any lesser quality for it. Most movie sex scenes are soft porn, and some of them go past that, and I don’t watch porn.
Never saw that one. “Red 2” is a hoot. I came across it accidentally one night. I heard “Red” is better but I definitely prefer “Red 2”. “Red” is good. I loved it when Malkovich takes out the gal calling him the “old man” or something.
Loved him in, ‘Justified.’ He had an awesome, ‘Ending,’ LOL!
