The 600,000 New Yorkers who dont have any type of health coverage will be getting access to medical care under a program being announced Tuesday by Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Previewing the plan on MSNBCs Morning Joe program, the mayor said it would cost about $100 million at full scale and ensure that all residents including illegal immigrants can see a doctor when they need to.

$100 million to cover 600,000 equals $167/person. Anyone think you can get health insurance for $167/year? ANYONE?!
Divide $100 million by 600,000. That’s $166, one office visit to a GP in NYC.
600k people THIS year, as soon as John Doe and his family see his neighbors getting free health care and him being a chump and buying insurance, that policy is going right out the window.
1.2 million + by the end of 2021 guaranteed, just on the nature of human beings alone.
This plan estimate of $100 mm is low by a factor of somewhere between 10 and 25. $167 per covered person does not buy much medical care. Or, if it does, why do most people pay 50 times as much for insurance?
Well, if you’re undocumented and live in Iowa and had a life threatening illness, you’d just drive to NYC. If they can’t prevent you from accessing it when you’re from Guatemala, how are they going to prevent you from using it by saying you’re from Des Moines? The whole family will come too! Isn’t socialism great?
It wont be enough. As soon as it starts prices will go up.
“That works out to $167 per year, per person covered. Wow! De Blasio sure can do things on the cheap.”
Oh no, my friend. If you read the article it states that the $100 million is for ALL residents, not just the 600,000 not covered. This is pure BS.
So there !
Sooner or later they’re going to run out of unicorn poop.
600,000 for $100 million, absolute B.S. Vermont has 700,000 residents and the projected costs were $23 billion. This is the lefts’ new meme and tactic, health care for all and sanctuary for all.
What you have to understand is that the $100M will be spent advertising and encouraging folks to sign up for Medicaid, which is between 70% and 90% federally funded. So, De Blasio is getting a nearly free lunch courtesy of the federal taxpayer.
you nailed it.
