On his last day, according to historian Alan Brinkley, he woke up as a president "with admirers and detractors, a man with a record -- some of it good, some of it not.
"By the evening of that day, he had become a legend, enshrouded in a fog of grief and posthumous adulation from which he has never fully emerged," Brinkley said.
...The number of books written about John F. Kennedy surpasses 40,000...
How JFK went from history to memory -- which is how we choose to remember history -- and how that memory was shaped, is the subject of Michael Hogan's new book, "The Afterlife of John Fitzgerald Kennedy." ...Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is central to Hogan's biography. In Hogan's view, she became the memory maker and head guardian of the image that the first lady and her husband had cultivated in the White House.
"I call it the Kennedy brand, and they did very little to deviate from that image," he said...
...In "The Road to Camelot," by former longtime Boston Globe reporters Curtis Wilkie and Thomas Oliphant, the authors chronicle Sen. Kennedy's five-year campaign for the White House. "Much of modern politics owes its birth to his campaign."
...JFK was an upstart who turned to primaries, not party leaders -- and beat the bosses at the polls. His was the first winning grassroots campaign, and it would become the playbook... "There is a straight line that runs from JFK to Donald Trump, and it's the idea of coming from the outside, in," Oliphant said. "Kennedy wasn't the choice of his party. He wasn't beloved in the Democratic Party when he started running for president."

Followed by LBJ
Kennedy's worst domestic decision was allowing government unions collective bargaining by executive order.
JFK Jr. didn’t use the restroom before his last flight.
He said he’d wash up later.
Badaboom.
You’re wrong about JFK and right about Truman.
You’re right.
FDR and Kennedy were both protected by the MSM. In Kennedy’s case, it could have been what led to his death if you believe the Mob version of the conspiracy.
That protection also led to Clinton being impeached.
“JFK died fighting the same cabal as President Trump is fighting today”.
That’s an excellent point. Thank you.
As another FReeper pointed out, JFK died fighting the same cabal that President Trump is fighting today.
This one helps you understand the corruption behind the current Democrat party:

One thing that the release of the JFK archive confirmed is that LBJ blamed the Russians.
The Warren report was agreed on by spineless Republicans who were given the choice to sign off on the investigation into JFK’s assassination or risk nuclear war with the Russians which LBJ claimed the public would demand if the Russians plot to kill JFK were exposed.
JFK had one of the worst civil rights records of any president.
Thanks CGtGoC. And, uh, no, LBJ didn't kill JFK, which is the gist of that book.
No he didn't. Both brothers have been dead over 50 years, so such a "cabal" would be long gone. Both JFK and RFK were killed by the Mob.
The event evoked fond memories of the 60s space program splashdowns.
Okay.
I'm a little surprised there hasn't been more who-killed-JFK scuttlebutt in this topic, usually there is in pretty much any JFK topic.
Okay. :^)
That’s a good observation. And it usually ends up with was the head shot from the front or rear.
And, everyone’s 100% positive they know the one, the only, answer. :^D
The evidence of a coverup and his involvement is overwhelming. Also, he definitely had the motive.
