*Brought to consciousness by the incessant hooting and bonging of the Qlock FReeQ’s Qlock on the mantle - still laden with the Qhristmas boughs and wreaths, and gazing groggily at the Qhristmas tree with all the unwrapped presents sitting under it, texokie yawns and stretches luxuriously - then wincing, wishes she hadn’t. As many do on New Year’s Day, she wishes she had been just an eensy bit more temperate in celebrating last night. Surely that memory of her dancing up and down the stairs singing "I'm a Little Teapot" and "Oh Susannah" was a dream! Um.... but maybe not.*
*Oh well....But it is what it is, and she knows she made her choices. She didn't KNOW, but suspected that SOMEONE spiked the punch! And it was soooo good! And she has vague memories of playing a rousing round of "Chop Sticks" with Conservative Party and falling off the bench into oblivion. Conservative party and Conservativesister have mercifully covered her with the warm feather Quilt, and she slept so soundly. Later she’ll rummage around in the Qanteen medicine cabinet or Qitchen and find the right remedy to calm down the clanging which can’t be entirely attributable to the Qlock.*
*The Qanteen Qatz and Dawgz have already vacated the area under the Steinweigh, and are busy with their celebratory activities. Ssschev can be seen tearing down the hall pulling an empty cardboard Qhristmas box, trailing his ears, along with ribbons and streamers of wrapping tissue. Ensconced in the box and tissue are all the Qanteen Qatz, fur and whiskers flapping in the breeze, and meowing in happy terror. *
FReeQs are exchanging greetings and busy following the news and the output of the Infinity Anons. TruthWillWin, fatima, and TXBubba, [See post 80, 91, and especially 122] are reporting and talking about the POTUS tweet of all CAPS telling us to be calm, and basically, all will be OK. The number value of the caps in the message all add up to a Q drop number… and the drop ALSO actually has a “keep calm” message to it.*

Mairdie is in Mother of Dragons (and Dragonlet's) office working on yet another video masterpiece. texokie thinks little jeremiah, bitt, stars & stripes forever, and TXnMa are discussing a campaign of creating some memes using google images, but she could be mistaken. Blu, Cletus D. Yokel, AzNascarFan, pink pig, and the Qarage Guys have found the sweet spot on that motor they’ve been refurbishing. The foot tapping boogie-woogie sounds can be heard over it. Apparently Cletus D. has plenty of piano rolls left after haffast had helped himself to two of them for lunch the other day. Or is it Cletus Playing Live? Either way, it’s great!

*USMC79to83 is also in the Qitchen with Mother of Dragons (and Dragonlets.) She has drafted him into helping to polish the silver before the guests arrive. Marines are GREAT at polishing anything to a high sheen. Plus, the other military guys and vets saw it coming and quickly found something else to do! But he is ok with that. He can handle the challenge. HE IS A MARINE!…and besides that, he loves to help Mother of Dragons (and Dragonlets.) Nevertheless, he sees KitJ and snags him to help. KitJ is also partial to helping Mother of Dragons (and Dragonlets,) and rolls up his sleeves, tackling the forks.*
*Swordmaker has been scarce lately, but we hear faint noises coming from his office. Bagster is manning the desk in the Oracle Office. He occasionally gives a hooting laugh and opens the door to share his insights and caustic hilarious comments*
*It is sunshiny today, and the temperatures are a lot warmer than they have been. Greeneyes is using this opportunity to putter around in the greenhouse and around the grounds. Aquamarine is trailing puddles of water which won’t turn to ice until temperatures go down tonight. She has been swimming in the Qanteen swimming pool. The neighborhood children are rolling slushy snow into icy muddy snowmen*
*WildHighlander is sitting on the couch in front of the larger sized Qovfefe table. He has his Qovfefe on the floor because he has just received a new Qilt from the Auld Land in his family tartan. He is working on folding it properly so he can put it on for the festivities later on. Idly, in her drowsy condition, texokie wonders what they are. What is on the schedule for the day? She glances over at his claymore, carefully standing in the corner. It is gleaming, and she knows it can cut paper and is ready for action if circumstances require it*
*Generally, SkyPilot, nanetteclaret, and Wneighbor have been away a lot lately, so all are missing them and looking forward to when they can check in and wishing them well in the meantime. Texokie learned Dr Dude was here earlier reporting on the Mueller situation and he had a conversation across the Qitchen island about it with USMC79to83.*
*Steven W. told us all about the latest skullduggery of CNN showing Kim Jong Un, not in his business suit from last night, but they showed last year’s address of him in his military uniform. Fatima reported on a very weird story of Anderson Cooper getting toasted on camera, and giving up tales to Faye Dunaway about his mom’s sex life. YIKES! FReeQs are definitely busy this morning!*
*Eldoradude, in his post 155 expressed his attitude about New Year’s resolutions. texokie is not sure if he actually meant it, and is now outing himself as one of our Qanteen Qatz, [that definitely is their general attitude] or if he is tweaking them. Hummmmmm …. Wondering….did he misplace his laser pointer...or is he hiding it?*
*Clearly it is time for texokie to get up and DO something! She stretches and relaxes into the Quilt again.... It is a NEW YEAR!!! How exciting to have a brand new page to write on and to look forward to the events unfolding. Ah Yes. Events unfolding. Hmmmmmmm. That requires POPCORN!! .....There is a ginormous clattering coming from the Qanteen Qloset, and texokie remembers she must dig out the YUUUGE popcorn popper and the biggest punch bowl for Mother of Dragons (and Dragonlets.)*
