fter an absence from Italy of nearly 500 years, beavers are back.
The species, which was once widespread across Europe, has been spotted in Italys northerly region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
The animals are believed to have wandered over the border from neighbouring Austria or possibly Slovenia.
An adult beaver was filmed by a camera trap in a forest near Tarvisio, a town that lies in the triangle where Italy, Austria and Slovenia converge.
The reason beavers disappeared from Italy is simple for hundreds of years they were trapped for their fur and also prized for their meat, Paolo Molinari, a wildlife biologist working in the region, told The Telegraph.

Wonder if Italian beavers have as many headaches as American beavers.

All I had to do was read the title
to know where some would go. It’s
probably a good thing that no one
has requested pictures.

Admittingly I enjoy the FReeper humor, but the civil way in most cases its expressed is enjoyable to me. Suggestive at times, somewhat crude occasionally but generally pretty safe for most. Wont get that on a lefty hang out. To all the ladies here I appreciate the tolerance of me and my adolescent tendencies. Girls have mystified me since I was 15 or so. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. Be safe.

So, they’re undocumented beavers...doing the work Italian mammals just won’t do.

Big mammals like cougars? No wonder Europe has been falling apart for hundreds of years.
To: Billthedrill
I understand that the population of beaver in Brazil has been on the decline in recent years.

American beaver is my favorite.
Unfortunately American beaver wants to eat but not help in building the dam.
