So are the Virgin Islands 53, 54, or 55?
Puerto Rico because they already vote in primaries and Guam to prevent its collapse would make 52....

Why didn’t we buy Greenland while we were at it? /s

Porto Rico was what it was called in the US in 19th century and in fact for much of the early 20th century.

Porto Rico ? Im sure the author went to public school. From Wikipedia:
The island's name was changed to "Porto Rico" by the United States after the Treaty of Paris of 1898.[41] The anglicized name was used by the U.S. government and private enterprises. The name was changed back to Puerto Rico by a joint resolution in Congress introduced by Félix Córdova Dávila in 1931.[42]
I say just go all the way and rename it Richport.

Info was delivered as quickly as possible by Canada Post Corporation. Hopefully, thaHer Majesty Queen Victoria's forces will soon defeat the Boers in the South African Republic and the Orange Free State, so that Canadian troopers can return home! ;>》

I know most freepers are not from New York, but the NY Herald stopped using that name (and became the NY Herald Tribune after the merger) in the 1920s. That was my first clue that this was old news. Clicking on the link confirmed it.

Hopefully not this island :
Denmark’s Latest Stand Against ‘Undesirable’ Migrants: Ship Them To An Island
Lying in the middle of an inlet about two miles from shore, Denmark’s island of Lindholm could be described as inhospitable; for decades cattle and swine suspected of harboring exotic viral diseases were shipped there to be studied. Now, the Danish government says the island will host another set of unwanted inhabitants: rejected asylum seekers who can’t go home and foreigners convicted of crimes.
