Soon it will be 50 years since Woodstock.
Not sure what surprises more: the fact that seminal cultural event is coming up on a half-century or that some of its featured acts are still touring. Wasnt rock n roll a youth movement? Didnt The Whos Pete Townshend write the immortal line Hope I die before I get old? and sing it at Woodstock?
Answers: Yes but not anymore. And yes Pete did, indeed, sing that line from My Generation on the third and last day of Woodstock on Aug. 17, 1969.
This week, The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts with Live Nation Concerts and INVNT announced a 50th anniversary edition of Woodstock for August 2019.

I gathered back when that most all the Stones had done that total transfusion routine in Switzerland. Was to end addiction to heroin without withdrawal unpleasantness.
And a lot of cat food cans aka their tuna.
Fogerty is a raging liberal these days, so he would fit right in. Which saddens me because CCR was one of my all-time favorite groups.
Go to the beach. That’s all I’m saying.
They’ll have to build the arena like a Greek ampitheater to wheel all the remaining geriatics out to the stage.....,
The Who (the two who survive) would definitely be able to - saw them for the first and only time in 2017 and they were great. Watched their Woodstock performance of “See Me Feel Me” and although their 2017 version wasn’t quite as energetic, it was still really good.
Woodstock - an American memorabilia event, no more to be repeated that VE Day, 1945, the end of the war in Europe.
The original participants may no longer be gathered, and the events cannot be recreated as any more than carefully arranged poses.
Thats not Bon Jovi.
This thing will fizzle out when all of the old Woodstockers take off their clothes.
Sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll with filthy hippies in endless MUD, what’s not to love?
Think I’ll pass....
Eric Clapton
“The Dead were stoned to the point that their music was unintelligible.”
Could be any GD performance. Funny.
Actually I saw the Dead 6-7 times. They definitely have different degrees of proficiency in their music. Sometimes excellent. Im talking about their more country stuff not their psychedelic early acid stuff.
I hope the Rolling Stones don’t employ the Hell’s Angels for security like they did at The Altamont Speedway Free Festival. Or maybe they should?
Bon Jovi and Clapton actually melded into one person back in 1993. I saw it on the internet, so I believe it.
It will be like Coachella in CA or Ultra in Miami.
I’ve heard the album. Most of the music was crap, IMO.
Don’t take the brown acid.
