I agree. These things are very subjective.

What other movie exists that 10’s of millions of people have memorized?

"Blazing Saddles." LOL.

"Napoleon Dynamite."

Top 10 dumbest movies. Only Michael Moore and Jim Carey make dumber ones.

Waiting for Guffman.

Guffman was good, but not nearly as good as the Best in Show, or a Mighty Wind. What distinguishes A Mighty Wind is the soundtrack they scripted, with one song being nominated for an Oscar.

A travesty.

At some point in the 1990s, I sat and watched Arsenic and Old Lace, followed by Philadelphia (the 1940 version). Surprisingly fresh material and great laughs. About a week later, they put on ‘Along Came Jones’...brilliant western comedy. There must be a hundred great comedies made from 1932 to 1940, and far better than anything made these days.

O Brother Where Art Thou is one of my top favorites!

Just for sheer laughs, Dumb and Dumber, Analyze This and School of Rock cracked me up. Wouldn't pay a dime to see any of those lefties who starred in them today, but at the time, very funny.

#1 is unequivocally “ Young Frankenstein “. “Blazing Saddles” and “The Producers “( the original from 68) are somewhere in the top 30.

I like most of your list. But some, meh. Aniie Hall? Really? Woody Allen was funnier before he got ‘sophisticated ‘.

I hate to give Meathead Reiner credit but I must. I do love Spinal Tap.

Groundhog Day is funny. Somewhere in the top 100. For BFM though, The original Ghostbusters is funnier and Caddy Shack even funnier “so I got that going for me…which is nice”.

“Some Like it Hot” was funny in 1959 when I first saw it”. It didn’t age well. I would put it somewhere in the top 60 or so.

“Life Of Brian” was great. But what of “MP and the Holy Grail”?

How does The Big Lebowski possibly rate higher than Blazing Saddles??

“My now 30 YO son did exactly that 20 years ago. I was watching it alone, and he heard me laughing loudly. The next day, he recited the plot to his mom on the drive home from school. “

Lol.

There’s NO other movie that has kind of following.

Except maybe something by Shakespeare.

Coming To America (Eddie Murphy)

Agree; that was delightful, as was Beverly Hills Cop.

Animal House was a national college campus phenomenon. It spawned one of the greatest beach music songs of all time and it was supped to be 50's era doo wop spoof, but it was good!

Wait until Otis sees us, he loves us!
