Flu season generally runs from October until April.
Flu activity generally peaks between December and February.
Doctors say that this year's flu vaccine is more effective than last year's version.
Also noted in this report is an article which states that 40% of the population nationwide has said "no" to flu vaccinations this year.

Nationwide, 40% of the population has said "No" to the flu vaccine.
The most recent illegal immigrant death of an 8 year old boy due to influenza has drawn concern for influenza.

The big question is why CO and GA are getting hit the worse. What is going on in those two areas that is different than the rest of the country?

I seem to recall seeing that maybe 80,000 died last year of influenza? Whatever the number, it was higher than usual. On bad years, the death rate is usually about 50,000, and can be as low as a few thousand on good years.
I went to the doctor recently, and one of the first questions they asked was, did I have a flu shot? Of course I did. I saw people lined up for shots a couple of months ago, and joined them.

Since I'm in flu red Colorado, I may get the shot for the first time since 1972.
Mostly because they actually matched the vaccine strain with the prevailing flu type this year.

40% have ‘wised up’...as for me? No flu shot; no flu. Go figure.

I know Georgia (around Gwinett/Atlanta) has a high number of Central American “immigrants” that were placed there by Obama.

Got it a week ago and it’s still has me foggy-headed, tired easy, and a nagging productive cough with sinus clogging. I’m wondering how long it will be before it’s all gone.

Effective or not against the flu, this year’s vaccine gave me a hell of a sore arm and a couple of days of general malaise.

That was my first surprize and question, as well.

“Federal authorities” are the source.
Why not “CDC”?

We are in Atlanta. The virus going around runs from a bad cold to a serious respiratory infection. We just have the bad cold. My SIL is deathly ill. Her Dr told her not to come in because he had people in his waiting room that were practically dying. He just phone in prescriptions for her.
