Two strangers married on Christmas Day after meeting for the first time at an airport in their wedding attire before boarding a plane to Las Vegas. Sarah [Elliott], 34, matched with Paul Edwards, 36, on online and within days decided to get hitched. They matched on Dec. 15 and exchanged messages and spoke to each other for the first time on Dec. 22.They committed to each other and booked a wedding venue - the Bellagio. After meeting for the first time at Gatwick Airport on Christmas Eve, the duo boarded a plane in full wedding attire and jetted off to Las Vegas to get married. We instantly clicked - there was an undeniable connection," Sarah Edwards, a nanny who is originally from New Zealand but now lives in Tunbridge, Wells, Kent, said. "I feel like Paul's my best friend already. We're not looking at everything through rose-tinted glasses. We know it will be challenging, but we're willing to work together. I'm usually such a logical person, but all the rules have been thrown out."

I knew a couple that is.
I met my wife in October, 1991, but didn’t really meet again until December. By January, I knew she’d be my wife and I proposed to her in March, 1992. Got married August 1, 1992 and have been married 26 years.
DANG!
That’s a nice looking couple. Best wishes for them.
Sometimes these crazy weddings do work. So, although you (and I) have more sense than to do something so rash, this is not entirely completely hopeless.
Yup.
After my Australian wife died, after awhile, I decided to get back into dating again, this time using online dating. I found a British widow (she had been married to an Air Force officer) living in a little town outside of Fort Worth and we struck up an online conversation and talked on the phone. When she expressed some reluctance about the distance between the two of us (a little more than a two-hour drive), I told her quite simply, "I have a car and I'm not afraid to use it ..."
We had our first face-to-face meeting on August 20th, I proposed on October 7th, we were married in the County Registrar's office on November 10th, and we had a church wedding on December 15th.
We just passed our 13th year and have started on 14 ...
So don't give up hope ...
Nope, but she was Cuban.........¡Ay, Dios mío!
I actually love stories like this. While it is true that the lawyers and the government have destroyed the institution of marriage, I’m a big believer in love.
I’m also a big believer that we’re in this together and better as a team than alone.
I think people should be ‘marrying’. I also think the state needs to stay out of it, because as you so aptly point out, it’s hard enough without involving them too.
She was in a hurry because her biological clock was ticking and she wanted a baby. He was in a hurry because he heard many women lose their looks after 35...
Youre right. Its not always hopeless. Ive met Indian couples fixed up basically at birth, no choice in their spouse, who really loved each other and have a great life together. I should be more positive about marriage!
Wow, Blue! I hope this lovely long marriage also is a happy one. Gd bless. Lightning of a Good marriage struck you twice. Thanks for your wishes for me, too.
Would have been easier to just give her the house and half his stuff.
...oh yeah, sorry about the herpes thing.
It would be interesting to see how its going in a few years.
“So it can work ... “

It certainly can.
My DIL’s grandmother was a “picture bride” and the marriage lasted for many years.
.
Marriage is THE COMMITMENT...how committed you both are tells the tale
