Violence and sentimentality. Very multicultural with white men slaughtered throughout. Huge profits. Hey for Hollywood this is no doubt how Christmas should be.
Second greatest.
The first greatest Christmas story ever told happened about 2018 years ago.
Welcome to the party pal!
I guess it was yippee ki-yay merry flockers. John McClane used to work the police union Christmas tree lot in Brooklyn.
The only thing I don’t like about Die Hard is Willis’ acquiescence to his wife’s rebellion and adherence to the disgusting “Women’s Movement” which has done more to destroy families and society than any other single entity.
I find myself near the beginning to the movie yelling at Willis, “No, Bruce, YOU’RE right and your stupid wife is WRONG.”
I never saw that Christmas movie where the family eats Chinese dinner out for their holiday meal... but we step out every Christmas day (wx permitting) walk around several historic areas around here, take pictures of the local wreath competition and then... Chinese Buffet. We’ve been doing it for years. An old retired FBI agent turned me on to the idea back in the late 1987. I gotta tell ya... and having been a military cook back in my storied past... it’s great not messing up the kitchen for the holiday. The family gave up gift exchanges years ago, but the the babies still do alright and so do the tykes and young teens. So really we’ve been low pressure for the last 25+ years. And keeping the season in perspective has been a great blessing for the whole family. It’s nice to get together and just enjoy family time.
There is also an old Episcopal church close by that actually has a midnight mass on Christmas eve, with a nice music program, an ancient pipe organ... the works. That has also become sort of a tradition. I was hard pressed to find churches which did midnight masses. It was very common in my youth but seems to have gotten out of “vogue” in today’s modern and complex society.
Although it’s a great action movie, in one way I hate it. That’s because it spawned an unending stream of copycats. For decades nearly every action movie was just a clone of Diehard.
Oy vey.
Ho ho ho!
Die Hard is #2
Good movie but uh, hmm, no way.
Even Freepers don’t realize when they’ve been sold—and bought into—a degraded culture.
Sorry, but I must disagree. Patton is the best Christmas movie and a true story to boot. The final battle scenes of the 3rd army relieving the siege of Bastogne on Christmas eve 1944 make it a Christmas movie
I do want to see Die Hard 2 because it was filmed in Alpena, Mi, just down the road from us.
Talk about defining Christmas movies down. Good grief.
Bull
Shiite. Stupid movie
No 1. Its a wonderful life
