Anyone concerned about putting these devices into our homes? The similarity to the Telescreen in Orwell's 1984 is frightening. The ministry of Truth over at Google has been very busy.

I won’t have those, and I won’t have a television with a built in camera, and I have a cloth hood for my PC camera. Bad actors have used all of these.

If you’ve have a dumb phone or a cable satellite box since about 1995 you’ve already had these devices in your home.

I think there’s an Alexa in a box around here somewhere that our son got my wife 2 Christmases ago. It’s staying in the box.

Well, your phone is always listening to you anyway.....(but I still wouldn't put one of these in my house).
Funny thing, the other night, my wife and I stumbled upon a Dr. Pimple Popper episode and were talking about it.
I picked up my phone, opened my browser and keyed in "Dr" - the first thing in the list - Dr. Pimple Popper.......Co-inky-dinky? or Not?........

Why would anyone put a full time spy device in their home?

A device with a camera and a microphone, connected to the internet, made by Facebook, which has no intention of protecting our privacy.
Yup, that's what we all need.

Citizen—you have nothing to fear unless you speak unauthorized speech or think unauthorized thoughts.
If you are not sure what they are—just turn on CNN and they will give you the appropriate thoughts for the new day.
Remember—check every day—yesterday’s approved speech could be tomorrow’s hate speech.

I have two Alexa devices and am not particularly worried about security. The NSA has been monitoring my emails, my cell phone follows my every move, my ISP knows every website I visit and I am sure other government agencies have accessed my medical records. Alexa is pretty bored with conversations in my home consisting of mainly what do we want for dinner and my rants at the lies and propaganda I see on TV news. I am certain a totalitarian police state would already have no problem in finding reasons to haul me off to a concentration camp.

Just on a lark, a few minutes ago I asked Alexa “Who is Jeff Beelzebub?” Want to guess what Alexa told me?
Give it a try. Just wondering if you get the same response?

Me at our friends’ house:
“Alexa, what is the best way to hide a human body so the police can’t find it?”
They are retired state troopers :D

It’s a post privacy world. Has been for over 20 years. Worrying now is closing the barn door after the cows not only left but been killed and eaten.
