More than 100 Academy members joined Winfrey, Disney chief Bob Iger and the talent behind 'Black Panther' which hit theaters in February for a toast to what Iger called a film that "actually had an impact on the world." Whether for books or political candidacies or Oscar hopefuls, there is no more coveted an endorsement than that of Oprah Winfrey, whose credibility and following enables her to mobilize the masses. Therefore, it was a major coup for Disney that Winfrey on Monday night at the London West Hollywood hotel, in front of an audience of more than 100 members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences publicly threw her support behind the studio's best picture contender Black Panther.

“Can someone explain to me the popularity of and how anyone could ever listen to this New Age cow?”
I think it occurred to some hollyweird scum that no one was catering to the deeply stupid. Oh, they were catering to the moderately stupid, sure, but not to real slobbering morons.
So they found someone who was perfect for that job.
I skipped it, because I really did not want to be in a theater audience where most there were black. Seemed less than prudent.
Well, it is a Marx-ist country........................
She's nothing more than a bloviating bulging mass of ignorance that happened to be in the right time at the right place and now has enough money to be seen in an influential light.
Truth be told, she's an idiot, a well-managed idiot, but an idiot, nonetheless.
And dangerous, folks...very dangerous.
Never forget that.
So where did Lee and Kirby get the idea for the name? Unfortunately, that isnt remotely clear.
One possibility is the Lowndes County Freedom Organization, a political party founded by civil rights activist Stokely Carmichael in 1965 to register African American voters in Lowndes, Alabama, that had a black panther as its logo.
Carmichael was a huge influence on the founders of the Black Panther Party, who the next year took the partys name from LCFOs logo.
Lee and Kirby would likely have been aware of Carmichael, who was already famous as a spokesperson and organizer of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and the man who probably coined the slogan black power. But given the very narrow focus of LFCO, the party (and its logo) never attained widespread familiarity outside of activist circles. ...

Oscars? Is that a slang term for “Oscar Meyer Weiners”?
‘Black Panther’ might have been the best of the Super Duper Hero movies of 2018, but the bar has been pretty low. Hopefully, the Marvel/DC movie genre has now hit the end of the trail. I almost yearn for movies that aren’t 45% action, 50% CGI tech and about 5% plot.

Below are the names and photos of 35 Police Officers who were murdered by the Black Panthers and the subsequent Black Liberation Army in the 60s, 70s and 80s [click link for list and details].
The Black Liberation Army was an organization that grew out of the Black Panther Party, composed of former Black Panther Party members, operating from about 1971-1980. Another two police officers on the list were murdered by the Weather Underground, a domestic terrorist group with ties to the Black Liberation Army.
Despite this readily available information, today the internet was full of articles criticizing those who were upset by Beyonces Super Bowl Halftime performance, and questioning how anyone could be upset over a woman affirming her blackness. Their analysis couldnt have been more off.
We have no issues with someone affirming their blackness or any other identity they want to affirm. We do take issue when people pay homage to a group that used terrorism and violence to promote racism and revolutionary socialism a group that murdered dozens of police officers in cold blood.
As you scroll through the list of officers below, look at their photos and read their stories. Among these officers are black men and white men. Rookies and veterans from across the country. Most were killed in unprovoked attacks and ambushes. They all left behind families .
Perhaps Beyonce, someone from the NFL, and someone representing CBS, could read through this list and tell us if they still stand by their decision to honor the Black Panthers during the Super Bowl. Then perhaps they could explain their answers to the surviving wives and children of these fallen officers. ...

And a horrible one at that.
Orca Winfrey
It’s a movie intended for blacks. No white folks invited so I’m going to miss it.
Bigger than a movie but not as big as her ass.
"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey [Newton] rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo [the police].
Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.
The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."
To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Fla.)commenting on What should be done to stop the ethnic cleansing in Freedonia?
“I think all of those situations are very, very sad, and I just think we need to take action to assist the people.”

Isnt that reverse racism, like black privilege. Academy Award affirmative action.
"Stokely Carmichael speaks at the University of California's Greek Theater, Berkeley, California, October 29, 1966, jammed
with 14,000 people."
Wow. That was brutal!
