Sorry, I know Trumps back is up against the wall. But I think these are empty words. I’d be more impressed if he stood his ground on the funding bill, like he promised he would do.


That’s where I am at. Just shut it down and force McConnell and Ryan override his veto. Let the country see how little the GOP cares about immigration and border security.

Thank goodness the Democrats never have any problem accepting responsibility. Their tireless self examination of culpability for failed programs which waste tax payers dollars can been seen in how they currently blame republicans for Obamacares amazing success/p> I Did you save $2500.00 while keeping your doctor?

I’ll qualify that by saying that he’s slobbered all over Putin in public, while kicking him under the table. Which is politically counter-intuitive, and maybe even stupid. That is something you do when you’re so popular you feel you can take risks to do something that is good in the long term. That was, with his poll ratings in the stratosphere after his decision to completely withdraw from Vietnam (a disaster that was to fully play out only in 1975), Nixon’s opening to China (which turned out to be a freaking disaster for US, long term, and ended up with him getting impeached). Trump’s ratings were in the toilet from day 1 and haven’t emerged from the basement since. Why is he pulling this crap?

The majority of GOP voters are strong on defense. This means adversarial to countries that have thousands of nukes aimed at us. That includes countries like Russia and China. To smack Putin around in reality while pretending to be nice to him in public is politically retarded. There is a reason why most GOP presidents are hawkish on Russia in public. That stance not only motivate most GOP voters - it also appeals to hawkish Democratic liberals who are apprehensive of traditional Democratic dovishness.

I am one of those Govt employees who would be sent home in a shut down. But I am ok with that if President Trump will simply NOT fold...he said Wall funding or shutdown....now a day later, he folds?!

That is the problem Republican voters have long had...they get the hot air while the Repub leadership delivers the goods the Dems want. Why can’t we have leadership with strong people like the Dems have? They are evil, but they don’t fold...so frustrating....thought we finally had someone with guts in Trump....

Trump signing the (zero to Wall, 10 billion free sh*t$ to Mexico, etc) bill....will doom his 2020 reelection chances maybe...hurt turnout for sure...and will hurt Repub Base turnout (which is what the Repub leadership obviously wants....
