I think this is the best option. It is clear that both Republicans and Democrats refuse to secure our sovereignty and to protect the safety of the American Citizens. Trump needs to bypass Congress altogether! F#$CK all of them! They are worthless politicians who only look after themselves. They all voted for ObamaCare and excluded themselves! What does that tell you. They use your taxpayer money to pay off their sexual abuse cases when everyone else gets sued or goes to jail. For those bashing Trump on this site, you need to get your head right and realize that when your own speaker of the house wont even give you a floor vote on the wall, then you know who is to blame. Its not Trump! If it weren’t for Trump we wouldn’t even be talking about this subject period! Some say he will lose his base? Well then I guess you are just like the rest of the gutless RINOS in D.C.

Democrats are really absurd sometimes. Like we hear Chuck Schumer say we don’t need a wall, but he says we need border security.

He’s all in favor of some ill defined concept of border security, but opposes a wall as part of said border security.

The Democrats are all in for an expanded government, imported naturalized voters, and a generation or two of birth-right citizen voters. It's a race-to-the-bottom plan to grab the biggest piece of a shrinking pie. As long as, their piece is the biggest for a while.

Do you remember when, in the GWB years, a fence was authorized in law, but no money was ever authorized for its construction? Or, how much empty talk there was about the electronic "virtual fence?"

It's clear that the Dems will make some sops toward border security, such as increased patrol personnel from time to time, but don't want to do anything effective.

As I said, it's part of a larger plan: Look at the vote harvesting initiative actually made legal in CA, or the National Popular Vote Initiative to effectively over-ride the Electoral College and make the last corrupt district the winner-take-all player in Presidential elections.

Mr. President, please no more promises you be unable to keep.
We love what you have done already.
But enough of the wall nonsense.

I am so with you.

I feel like I’ve stumbled onto DU, non stop bellyaching here these days.

It’s pointless to list all of President Trump’s accomplishments thus far, including getting us out of Syria.

He clobbered ISIS, something BO could have easily done, had he taken action early.

The President’s ability to withstand the never ending avalanche of crap falling on his head amazes me.

Not in the case of an invading army. Armies can be much better equipped than individual citizens if they’re supplied by another opposing government.

I am reading all of the anti-Trumper’s coming on this thread, they are terrified that he will build the Wall. Ike said the national highway system was a military necessity and that is how it got funded. The Wall will be built and you gutless anti-Trumper’s can take a hike back to the same place what the Weekly Standard went to.

of course not in case of an invading army. Since we have had none except in the early 1800s that means the police are and have been the primary for public safety.

Why shut down the government if you can get the Wall another way?

“if President Trump will simply NOT fold...”

To what end does he shut down the government? He loses and the UniParty will not fund a dollar to the wall. They never wanted it.

The Republican lame duck House will not pass anything for the wall either.

Besides, government workers always get paid after a shutdown without working anyway.

So this is lose, lose. The battle is engaged and must be fought ahead. There’s no win here today in this skirmish.

People need to get over it as the Republican Party could turn completely on President Trump at any time.

So man up!

“No, but he can go on TV, and go directly to the Americsn people.”

It makes no difference and he’s engaged daily with tens of millions through Twitter.

There are no votes in the House, no votes in the Senate for the Wall. The Republicans are obeying their special interest masters who NEVER wanted the wall.

We are not going to get that direct funding. The President is looking to apply his powers on security using the military.

Let’s support him and hope he can pull it off.

Today President Trump said “...One way or the other, we will win on the Wall!”

I believe him.

Why shut down the government if you can get the Wall another way?

Because we've seen the puppet show. Over and over again.

Trump might make a show about using the military to build the wall and then a Federal judge will step in and stop it before the first shovel is used.

Then Trump will whine at a rally about how mean the courts are to him.

Instead of using thumb screws and pushing legislation.

Should have shut the whole godddamn mess down. Most Americans would have supported it even if the backstabbers in congress wouldn’t have.

I think we might both win this argument, depending on context. The primary responsibility of government is to defend its citizens. The land you own isn’t yours unless you or your government can defend it, whether it be against criminals or foreign governments. You can occasionally defend your own property against criminals without even needing the police. Foreign armies, not really.

Never been to DU, , but an objective adult with a lot of experience being lied to by politicians and hearing false promises..

I know his accomplishments. I pay attention. But his gaps are significant.

too much deficit spending

Clintons, Obama, Comey and Lynch not in prison. As months pass, he is losing the opportunity to return us to a rule of law and not a rule by powerful aristocrats who do as they please. Equal justice demands they be indicted and sent to prison for crimes and the coup attempt.

When NK disarms, then it will be a major success, not until then.

The WALL.

To much deferring to courts on national security issues which is his purview and courts should have no standing. Ca’t let 1 judge and hen another deiced on our defense. We never did that before.

Allowing public officials to violate immigration laws with impunity, in California, mayor of Oakland, Kevin De Leon, and the AG of CAL.

I agree and believe if the day comes that PDJT believes he can’t get the wall, he will tell us so.
