Haven’t shopped at Macy’s in many years - nothing they sell that can’t be had cheaper and more efficiently elsewhere. Don’t think I’m inclined to start back.

Truth is, I never see myself in ads. One reason I ignore ads is how they are endlessly scripted to make men look like buffoons and women are always the clever one in the relationship.
Most ads are not aimed at me, therefore I ignore them.
Men have been made out to be buffoons in TV ads and programs for over 50 years. Which is why I also ignore and don't watch them.

I read a quote from a female ad executive who said that her staff, comprised of mostly women, use their real life experiences in ads and that is “how we see it.” I believe she was based in NY or New England.

Same with TV shows. It’s a given now.

We were trying new ROKU channels, it could have been Pluto, or similar. Anyway the channel had some watchable programming until they had an add with two elderly black men, one posing as a woman, wanting the public to accept trannies. Needless to say the channel was dumped and I gave it the poorest rating possible.

I have embedded successfully many times without any issues until failing tonight. Thanks. Righto. Carry on.

"One reason I ignore ads is how they are endlessly scripted to make men look like buffoons and women are always the clever one in the relationship."
My dad was complaining about that 50 years ago, and it's only gotten worse. I saw a new variation the other day: a white husband with a black wife. The wife was sitting at her tablet computer explaining everything to the goofy, moronic husband.

" . . . but rarely traditional values like straight two sex one culture families, religion, patriotism . . . "
The only time you'll get a glimpse of a church in an ad is if it's two gays going to get married. You'll see people doing yoga or meditation or Tai Chi in some ads, but never going to or coming from a Bible study or traditional Christian church service.

“Blacks are ...represented as living in upscale neighborhoods and driving upscale cars.”
True. Ads regularly show minority families with upper class clothes, cars and houses as if that is normal. Then I read statistics and conclude that advertisements on tv do not represent reality.

As Clevon Little might say, “Where da wifes folks at”?
Check out many of the ads now on TV/Cable. Talk about “indoctrination by PC businesses”. I’ve stopped going to several stores because of it.
Next they will be having clothing ads for “Tranny Grannies”.
The last think I want to see is Bruce Jenner selling “Granny Nightgowns”.
What next? Rosie O’Donnell selling “jockstraps”?
