I’m in Marietta (NW of Atlanta). I thought it was the cat “knocking” on the bedroom door to be let in. It lasted too long, however. That’s when I thought “Is this an earthquake”? I told my wife that’s what I thought it was, and she thought I was nuts. Then we wake up this morning and the news confirms it.

Dog started barking at 4:00 AM. I slept through it. Mr. GG2 got up to check for intruders but did not realize there had been a quake. My mom said there is a crack somewhere on I75 and they are routing traffic around it.

Series though, my dog woke me up and I thought it was my computer making noise and the screen coming on by itself. We were at the Vet a little while ago and he told me about the earthquake.

But my Boy Scout troop did find a working still (operable, though it was cold and the ashes cold) while cleaning up trash from remote corners of Lake Allatoona near Acworth about 25 years ago.
