Contrary to the lamestream media…
(Vanity) | 6 December 2018 | areukiddingme1

Most everyone watching the live coverage of yesterday’s George H. W. Bush’s memorial service was touched by the comments made about the man.

However, interesting enough, I overhead two 50 something (assumed to be liberal) women talking about former Congressman Alan Simpsons comments about the former President and it struck me as to how different we think, men vs. women / conservative vs. liberal.

What Alan Simpson said was, “George H. W. Bush hated no one.” He went on to say, “hatred corrodes the container it’s in.”

That was an amazing statement about a man that the media had put through the ringer, and yet, George H. W. Bush, according to his close friend, still hated no one. I have no reason to doubt former Congressman Simpson, so, I will take his comments on face value.

The two 50 something women heard the same thing I heard and their takeaway was much different than my takeaway – They heard Simpson’s comments and felt that they were pointed directly at President Trump, I heard the comments and accepted them on face value, it was only after I had heard this conversation that I paused to reflect on the comments in context and the conclusion I reached was that the comments were directed straight at the Obama’s.

The beauty of hindsight being 20/20 is that we can reflect on “actual” comments/actions taken vs. well massaged rhetoric re-packaged and delivered to the masses by the lamestream media in support of their messiah – Certainly for the last six of Obama’s eight years I heard nothing but contempt and hatred (yes, hatred) for the patriotic, white, working, Christian, heterosexual, veteran, USA loving, American male/female.

They hated us because we didn’t swallow their brand of BS and get onboard the obama train because it did not look like, it did not sound like, it didn’t even pretend to be like anything that the vast majority of American’s had grown up with, but just because we questioned it, we didn’t deserve the kind of hatred that was pointed at us by our government (i.e. The Homeland Security assessment put out in April of 2009 and defended by Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano that said that veterans and veteran’s groups could be radicalized and therefore were a danger to the country) this was the first time in my adult life that I was literally concerned by my government, concerned that because I was a patriotic, white, working, Christian, heterosexual, veteran, USA loving, American male that I could literally be considered an enemy of the state because I did not support the president and his illogical ideas.

I believe that Congressman Alan Simpson’s comments about hatred were pointed straight at the obama’s – Their vitriol of everything traditional American was as obvious as the fly that landed on obama’s face, because Congressman Alan Simpson too is a patriotic, white, working, Christian, heterosexual, veteran, USA loving, American male, I believe he too was probably concerned about the rhetoric of hatred that the obama’s and the obama administration pushed for eight long grueling years that most of us had to simply endure.

I hope the obama’s heard Congressman Simpson’s eulogy of former President Bush and take it on board, their brand of politics only sows hatred – President Trump may be a lot of things, but he does not hate America and he damn sure doesn’t hate patriotic, white, working, Christian, heterosexual, veteran, USA loving, American male/females or any other race that supports and defends the America we all grew up in, President Trump has exhibited nothing but love for this country, the same cannot be said for the last administration.

What did you hear?

To paraphrase Dean Martin, “Everybody hates somebody sometime.” Those people who have a natural disposition not to hate anyone are very rare. Christians are prohibited from hating their enemies, but relatively few achieve that goal, and even fewer do who are interested in politics. For me, not hating is a constant battle which I lose at least once almost every day.

fighting back against hate = “hate”

But being a soft spoken pacifist when waves of media hate are breaking on your shoulders = admirable.

Don’t get me wrong, with a tag like ‘z3n’, I am hip to the sophist appeal portraying this as ideal and noble, but count me as falling on the side of not buying it. The MSM portrays fighting back as hate because they just don’t want you fighting back.

“For me, not hating is a constant battle which I lose at least once almost every day.”

So true!

But in my lifetime, I have never felt like I was “hated” by my own government, like I did the eight years of obama...That is why I believe that Simpson wasn’t talking to President Trump, he was talking to the obama’s, of course this is one mans opinion.

If you heard this as directed to the left, the left heard this as directed to Trump. Rorschach inkblot test.
I heard it as he tried to say something nice about the man and took one step to far. Leave the preachin’ to the preachers.

No offense my FRiend, but if that was your reaction to the comment you are the only person in the Country who thinks the zinger was directed at the Obama’s.

I heard it on the radio live and there was not a nanosecond of doubt that it was a slight directed at POTUS Trump, which tells me the Liberal Propaganda against him is very effective. Simpson is just another swamp dwelling POS.

I watched it live and I can see why you would think that – But if Simpson had intended that zinger to be directed at President Trump I believe he would have been a little more direct and to the point, like the rest of the Trump haters.

But because it was so veiled, again, I initially accepted the comment on face value and let it go as something nice said about a friend.

The reason I believe it was directed at the obama’s and obama administration is because Simpson too is a patriot and nothing President Trump has done has been out of hatred – It’s all business, nothing personal, he is simply trying to return America to greatness, “Make America Great Again,” something that I believe Simpson can relate to as a Korean War Veteran himself.

Again, it was only after I had heard this bizarre accusation that the comment was directed towards Trump, did I really bother to think about it, I hope that Simpson was more offended by the eight years of obama than the two years of President Trump, I certainly don’t feel like I am the target of hatred or that I may the enemy of my country like I did under obama…I feel like Trump values the nation’s veterans.

"But in my lifetime, I have never felt like I was “hated” by my own government, like I did the eight years of Obama . . . "

It goes well beyond Obama. As we saw during the Kavanaugh hearings, and in many other contexts, it is now socially permissible for white people in general, and particularly "old white males," and particularly "old white conservative Christian males," to be mocked and taunted and demonized as a group in major media, on college campuses, and in governmental and corporate seminars.

To cite just one example, a recent issue of National Review quoted a woman who is the CEO of a major educational consulting group which holds considerable sway over public school curricula and testing. She said, "If you are under the impression that there are good white people and bad white people you are wrong . . . [racial biases are universal] and something you cannot be cured from."

That is an extreme and frank statement of the philosophy behind the "white privilege" and "anti-whiteness" movements that are now pervasive on college campuses, corporations, and government. It is even filtering down into the elementary schools.

Now, this kind of hate-talk has also entered the area of gender, in which maleness and heterosexuality are now almost treated as diseases, as something to be fought and despised.

Yesterday's funeral was further proof that - for the left and much of the media - the only good Republican is a dead Republican, and the dead Republican will be used to shame the living Republican.

When alive and active, Republicans are reviled as morons and racists; when they are retired or dead, they are held up as the gold standard compared to which the current Republicans fall short.

I believe it was pointed at Trump and his supporters. These people are proud to hate. And there are those who claim to be Christian who hate and, for some reason, believe it is right to do so.

I sent a friend request to a person I once considered a friend. The response was “I doubt you want to be friends with me since I’m a bleeding heart liberal”. That was a way of telling me this person didn’t want to be my friend.

I responded “I doubt you’ve ever been cursed and called names because you’re a liberal. I can’t say the same. So, you’re right. I don’t want to be your friend since your very first response was about politics insinuating that you are right and I’m wrong. Have wonderful what’s left of your life”.

By the way, this person has been a pastor for 30 years.

While I certainly respect the opinions in this post, the run-on sentences make it difficult to read.

Sad to say it but as a card carrying member of the Bush wing of the Republican Party, Simpson is more likely to have been referring to Trump than Obama. The Bush wing, a.k.a. the GOPe and RINOs, had very little quarrel with Obama. They hate Trump.

By the way, Maureen Dowd has been asserting that George HW Bush did, in fact, hate one person. Donald Trump. She may be right, Trump was certainly the only GOP candidate that Bush indicated he didn't support.

This is the second time today that I’ve read something like this on FR. Are we so insecure with our message that we have to write crap like this? Black Americans cannot love America? Jews cannot love America? And tossing in a “and all the others” throw away line at the end of the thought doesn’t cut it.

No wonder the left thinks we are a bunch of racists.

We better get our collective shit together or we will be sitting on the outside in 2020.

Based upon your reply, I will just assume that you never read the Homeland Security assessment put out in April of 2009 and defended by Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano.

It was white, male, Christian, veterans that the obama administration was labeling as “extremists” in that memo and we needed to be watched — I didn’t write that, the obama administration did, this is not a figment of my imagination...Go read it, or not, but don’t try to tell me that we weren’t targeted.

“U.S. military personnel of all ranks are feeling increasingly alienated from their own country...”

Touched on this subject in this thread...yesterday. Thoughts?

Every time I go in the local Walmart I feel alienated from my own country by how many aliens are in my country illegally with the blessing of our elected.

Simpson, the author of the Simpson-Mazzolli amnesty of 1986 that promised border security and enforcement in exchange for a “one-time, never to be repeated” amnesty for less than a million illegal aliens that became 3.5 million.
We never got the border security or the enforcement, all we got were demands for more amnesties.

Bush League Republicans are responsible for the death of the Republic.

The Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) was necessary in their eyes because we would not vote for the New World Order, so they are importing people who will.
