To paraphrase Dean Martin, “Everybody hates somebody sometime.” Those people who have a natural disposition not to hate anyone are very rare. Christians are prohibited from hating their enemies, but relatively few achieve that goal, and even fewer do who are interested in politics. For me, not hating is a constant battle which I lose at least once almost every day.

fighting back against hate = “hate”

But being a soft spoken pacifist when waves of media hate are breaking on your shoulders = admirable.

Don’t get me wrong, with a tag like ‘z3n’, I am hip to the sophist appeal portraying this as ideal and noble, but count me as falling on the side of not buying it. The MSM portrays fighting back as hate because they just don’t want you fighting back.

If you heard this as directed to the left, the left heard this as directed to Trump. Rorschach inkblot test.
I heard it as he tried to say something nice about the man and took one step to far. Leave the preachin’ to the preachers.

>>>The two 50 something women heard the same thing I heard and their takeaway was much different than my takeaway – They heard Simpson’s comments and felt that they were pointed directly at President Trump, I heard the comments and accepted them on face value, it was only after I had heard this conversation that I paused to reflect on the comments in context and the conclusion I reached was that the comments were directed straight at the Obama’s<<<

No offense my FRiend, but if that was your reaction to the comment you are the only person in the Country who thinks the zinger was directed at the Obama’s.

I heard it on the radio live and there was not a nanosecond of doubt that it was a slight directed at POTUS Trump, which tells me the Liberal Propaganda against him is very effective. Simpson is just another swamp dwelling POS.

I watched it live and I can see why you would think that – But if Simpson had intended that zinger to be directed at President Trump I believe he would have been a little more direct and to the point, like the rest of the Trump haters.

But because it was so veiled, again, I initially accepted the comment on face value and let it go as something nice said about a friend.

The reason I believe it was directed at the obama’s and obama administration is because Simpson too is a patriot and nothing President Trump has done has been out of hatred – It’s all business, nothing personal, he is simply trying to return America to greatness, “Make America Great Again,” something that I believe Simpson can relate to as a Korean War Veteran himself.

Again, it was only after I had heard this bizarre accusation that the comment was directed towards Trump, did I really bother to think about it, I hope that Simpson was more offended by the eight years of obama than the two years of President Trump, I certainly don’t feel like I am the target of hatred or that I may the enemy of my country like I did under obama…I feel like Trump values the nation’s veterans.

Yesterday's funeral was further proof that - for the left and much of the media - the only good Republican is a dead Republican, and the dead Republican will be used to shame the living Republican.

When alive and active, Republicans are reviled as morons and racists; when they are retired or dead, they are held up as the gold standard compared to which the current Republicans fall short.

While I certainly respect the opinions in this post, the run-on sentences make it difficult to read.

Their vitriol of everything traditional American was as obvious as the fly that landed on obama’s face, because Congressman Alan Simpson too is a patriotic, white, working, Christian, heterosexual, veteran, USA loving, American male, I believe he too was probably concerned about the rhetoric of hatred that the obama’s and the obama administration pushed for eight long grueling years that most of us had to simply endure.

Sad to say it but as a card carrying member of the Bush wing of the Republican Party, Simpson is more likely to have been referring to Trump than Obama. The Bush wing, a.k.a. the GOPe and RINOs, had very little quarrel with Obama. They hate Trump.

By the way, Maureen Dowd has been asserting that George HW Bush did, in fact, hate one person. Donald Trump. She may be right, Trump was certainly the only GOP candidate that Bush indicated he didn't support.

“....but he does not hate America and he damn sure doesn’t hate patriotic, white, working, Christian, heterosexual, veteran, USA loving, American male/females or any other race that supports and defends the America...”

This is the second time today that I’ve read something like this on FR. Are we so insecure with our message that we have to write crap like this? Black Americans cannot love America? Jews cannot love America? And tossing in a “and all the others” throw away line at the end of the thought doesn’t cut it.

No wonder the left thinks we are a bunch of racists.

We better get our collective shit together or we will be sitting on the outside in 2020.

“U.S. military personnel of all ranks are feeling increasingly alienated from their own country...”

Touched on this subject in this thread...yesterday. Thoughts?

Simpson, the author of the Simpson-Mazzolli amnesty of 1986 that promised border security and enforcement in exchange for a “one-time, never to be repeated” amnesty for less than a million illegal aliens that became 3.5 million.
We never got the border security or the enforcement, all we got were demands for more amnesties.

Bush League Republicans are responsible for the death of the Republic.

The Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) was necessary in their eyes because we would not vote for the New World Order, so they are importing people who will.
