Put them both in the playoff. Alabama is in. But Georgia should be in as well. Yes, with two losses. Yes, as a non-conference champion. Yes, despite the résumés of Oklahoma and Ohio State. Georgia is good enough to overcome all that. The howls of outrage will echo across the Midwest, the Southwest and everywhere else where fans hate the thought of the Southeastern Conference gobbling up half the playoff for the second straight year. The political pressure against it would be immense and lets face it, college athletic administrators are political animals. The College Football Playoff selection committee would be shutting out 60 percent of the Power Five from the four-team playoff, which would cause enough backlash that it could actually alter the sport.

If a team doesn’t win their conference, they shouldn’t be in there.
Yeahhhh, no.
Georgia blew it, momentum changed with not going for it on a 4th and 3, at the subsequest missed field goal. Jalen Hurt came in and sealed the deal.
They choked in their conference championship game and should attend one of the too many meaningless bowl games, not play for a national championship.
There are more then 4 conferences. Some conference winners would be hard pressed to finish last in some other conferences. Supposedly the idea for the Championship is the 4 BEST teams in the country not 4 of the winning conference champs.
Dont SEC schools teach students how to use paragraphs?
So we can leave 12-0 Notre Dame out. That’s a relief.
Sooners should be in over Georgia. While GA is very good team, no conference championship, 2 losses, and a total inability to score against AL in Q4........21 straight points is not good momentum
This was an elimination game for Georgia. I completely disagree with Forde as usual. We have no loss and one loss teams that are deserving. In fact too many, as five teams have a legitimate argument to be in the top four. Georgia is on the outside with two losses. Thats just the way it is.
Coffee is for closers.
If you lose two games, and dont win the championship...you are not closing the deal.
The problem is you have three undefeated untied teams at the top. They should round out the field with undefeated untied conference champ UCF based on both their play this year as well as last year’s snub. They’d get Alabama first in the ultimate David vs Goliath game while Clemson and Notre Dame settle the ACC title.
Get out of here. Written by a jock sniffing SEC sycophant, and shared across the world by an equally vapid tribe. A tribe of morans who can’t believe football is played or understood beyond the old CSA.
No. Georgia proved last night in 2nd half that they are done....
That’s not a recipe for FR longevity.
I’ll take that as a NO!
best teams win the most games and win their respective division/conference. Like the NFL, an 8-8 team can win in the playoffs and even the championship but they have to get there first by winning their division.
Get the human rankings out of it. nobody wants to see two-three SEC teams duking it out in the playoffs while a few other undefeated teams play in the meaningless bowl games, except us SEC fans.(Meaningless= no shot at a title)
Article is dead on. Ga is at worst the second best team in the country and the only Team capable of beating Alabama. Conference championship games are extra games teams like ND never face. And be honest ND is 8-3 at best playing in the SEC. Ga beats Clemson, and annihilates Oklahoma and Ohio State if they played. The final 4 is picked by a Committee who are suppose to choose the 4 best teams, but it won’t, Oklahoma gets picked and destroyed by Alabama by 4 TD’s. Clemson beats ND by 3 TD.s, and ALabama beats Clemson by 2 TD’s. Go ahead and givem the Trophy.
Nice potty mouth - esp. on Sunday morning. It’s only a football game, dude.
