Put them both in the playoff. Alabama is in. But Georgia should be in as well. Yes, with two losses. Yes, as a non-conference champion. Yes, despite the résumés of Oklahoma and Ohio State. Georgia is good enough to overcome all that. The howls of outrage will echo across the Midwest, the Southwest and everywhere else where fans hate the thought of the Southeastern Conference gobbling up half the playoff for the second straight year. The political pressure against it would be immense and lets face it, college athletic administrators are political animals. The College Football Playoff selection committee would be shutting out 60 percent of the Power Five from the four-team playoff, which would cause enough backlash that it could actually alter the sport.

Looks like he got the zot.
UCF deserves a place at #4 this year. That will settle the hierarchy squabbles once and for all.
Notre Dame beat four ranked teams, three by more than 20 points. Georgia was 3-2 against ranked teams.
It’s on espn right now...
Ha ha Georgia, fake news!
Not really. The more teams in a playoff, they more teams that will be able make a case they should have been included.
==
But they cant make a claim they are potentially the best team in the nation, but going with 8 guarantees that the best teams are in the playoffs.
Would have liked to see a Pete Carroll USC semipro team vs a Saban football clone Alabama team. I liked it when Utah kicked the garbanzos outta Alabama a few years ago. And I loved it when Alabama startled Miami in that game more than a few years back. I love to see very good, disciplined, sound but unrespected teams bowl over the consensus “great” teams...
Good
I’m sure no puritan, but that one was a tad over the top.
That makes no sense. If you have four team playoff, you want the best four teams. If you have an eight team playoff, you want the best eight teams. The more teams included, the more teams that would could make a case for being included. No number of teams could guarantee the best team was picked for every slot in the playoff.
That game meant very little. Alabama was one quarter away from the BCS national championship game that year, Saban's second year at Bama. They lost to Florida in the fourth quarter of the SEC championship game.
Bama teams aren't going to be very motivated or sharp when they fall short of the playoffs. The same for Auburn last year when they were one game away from the playoffs, and then lost to Georgia in the SEC championship, and later lost to UCF in a bowl game.
Teams that have been highly ranked often and who have won national championships will not perform too well in ordinary bowl games after coming close to making the playoffs.
PAC-12 hasnt been so hot in basketball, either.
“A tribe of morans who cant believe football is played or understood beyond the old CSA.”
Is that how northern schools teach you to spell?
It’s “morons”, not “morans”. You’re welcome.
The Civil War ended in 1865, so get over it. This may shock you but it’s almost 2019.
I’m a Bama fan but I don’t give a d##n about the SEC. I felt that I had to respond to your tired, ignorant, bigoted Anti-Southern rant.
You neglected to mention that Georgia held Bama all night long.
Thats hilarious! Carry on...
Oh. I mi9 your response. You missed mine. We shall have to clean that up... https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/get-a-brain-morans
I can be so very vicious at times. I do feel bad about that. I would like to apologize. But I just can’t. But I want to. Lol.
I’m familiar with that meme and it always gives me a chuckle.
