I sincerely hope that POTUS, Donald J, Trump attends the funeral of Ex-POTUS, George H.W. Bush in honor of his outstanding, long term service to our nation and our people!!!
Bush like all of us human beings, has his flaws, but his successful accomplishments in his life far outweigh his faults.
We must remember the young Bush did not enter Yale, (Where he was accepted) when he graduated from high school, he signed on with the the U.S.Navy, where in eleven months, he became the Navy's youngest aviator (Pilot). Bush flew fifty eight missions, when in September, 1944 his aircraft, a Grumman TBM Avenger aircraft was shot down during a bombing mission. Bush parachuted to safety and was later picked up and rescued by U.S. Navy submarine, Bush was only twenty-two (22) years old.
Once the senior Bush was asked at formal dinner he was attending, "What was his most important assignment of life?". He immediately answered, "Being a good Husband, a good Father and a good Grandfather!!!" This man is an American who needs to be honored by his fellow peer Americans...period!!!
Of course he joined the Navy to establish service credentials to use in his future political campaigns. If you do not think his future was planned early please stop reading. Name another pilot who was picked up by a sub after crashing their plane?

I have no remorse or dignity worship for John McCain. Yes..he suffered while in captivity, but...instead of the hero he should have become, he created his own insane driven hate for his country and became both a traitor and turncoat...a Benedict Arnold nutcase!!! President Trump will be attacked by The Left/Never Trumpers, no matter what he does and doesn’t do, with the exceptions being if he resigns from being POTUS and if he dies in office.
It would be an unnecessary misstep on their end not to invite. They still have deep roots in DC. Goodwill goes a long way. With the Clinton’s still alive they may need Trump’s goodwill.
Yes, he should be invited, and, yes, he should attend.

Direct your comments to the Bush family. Bush 41 made it quite clear he was voting for Hillary. In fact, the entire Bush family refused to endorse or support Trump except grandson George P. Bush.
We will see how petty and small the Bush family will be when it comes to inviting President Trump. The Bush family is celebrated for class and graciousness. We saw their true face when Trump got the nomination and defeated Jeb.
This is a matter of protocol. The current President resides over all head of stat funerals. The Bushes cannot keep him out of the picture on this.
What I was getting at, is that Jeb! is the elephant in the room driving Bush family animus towards President Trump.
If Jeb! can get by it, Trump gets invited; if he keeps pouting, then there’s no invitation. I think the rest of the family will go along with his decision to sulk or not to sulk.
Downed pilot Pickups by Navy subs were routine in the Pacific Theater in 1944 when there the entire Pacific Ocean was dominated by American Navy Subs on patrol destroying Japanese convoys everyday.
I also doubt very much that the young “baby boy” eighteen year old, Navy Pilot, Bush was centered on a future political career. His main concern, rightfully so, was keeping his butt alive for another day. Case closed!!!
Haven't heard the plans, even though it should be a "State Funeral". I wouldn't put it pass the family to go private like they did for Barbara's he can change his mind on such things, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Bush 43 hates Trump who criticized the invasion of Iraq and defeated Jeb who was supposed to be the next Bush in the WH. Talk about a sense of entitlement.
Fox just read an announcement from the White House saying that the President will be attending the funeral. He put out a very nice statement.
What you say is true, but GWB strikes me as having some sense of tradition. So, I thought the insult to Jeb was the big one.
But then again, GWB didn’t say anything about Obama, no matter how hard Obama dumped on him, but was quick to open his mouth about Trump.
President Trump coming to Bush’s funeral would be like going to the White House Correspondent’s Dinner. Even for Pence, it will be like going to see the play “Hamilton”.
