what’s the reason for the fall in memory price beyond that memory prices generally fall
I saw an 8 terabyte regular hard drive the other day. It was at $279. Western Digital.
20 years ago I thought I was a hot sh#t buying a 10GB IBM hard drive at the same $279 price and the US dollar was worth at least 2.5 times as much back then.
Bought a Seagate 3T drive for $125 6 months ago.
Always looking for memory sales.
Yeah $72 at Bezos INC.

I paid $125 for a 500gb SSD in May for my laptop. I just paid about the same for a 1TB SSD in my iMac.
I want a 2TB one, of which the prices are stubbornly stable.

A couple of weeks ago I bought 1TB SSD and paid $172. I recall that not long ago it was near $500. A 2TB SSD can be had for under $400. Great stuff.
You could try MicroCenter as well.
I just paid $219 for an M.2 terabyte SSD. You may find similar pricing if your system has an M.2 slot.
One more thing... At my local MicroCenter, it looked like someone at AMD woke up & made sure plenty of Ryzen Motherboards & CPUs we’re available and got decent shelf space in the store.

There is a 2TB flash drive at Amazon in the $1250 range
One more deal: Newegg had G.Skill Trident RGB DDR4/3200 RAM available for around $130 for 16 gig.
Yeah, I wanted a 2TB as well but when I compared the price ratio to that of 1TB it made no economic sense. Not sure why it hasn’t dropped more. Too popular?

We built 7ft high storage cabinets that were 8GB fully loaded. That was a few years ago but it is impressive to watch the storage capacity increase so dramatically.
You may be able to find an 8TB Seagate external for around $130.
NOT ONE of my Seagate external hard drives failed me. I have a total of 8. 6 Seagate and 2 WD. I even have a 2006 external HD by Maxtor, before it was bought out by Seagate. And believe it or not, it still works.
