A day after doubling down on unscripted fare come January, the network is firming up its comedy slate for 2019, with its Murphy Brown reboot and Damon Wayans Jr. vehicle Happy Together both ending their respective runs after their initial 13-episode orders.

Bwaaa-Haaa-HA! :)
I read somewhere this is fake news. They are scheduled for a season 2. Maybe it will be cleared up soon.
Comedies that are not funny usually DO end. Did no one tell them that in Hollywood?
Liberal sitcoms are not funny, because they have no humor.
The anti Trump one liners must be drying up
I would offer this observation about Murphy Brown-Revamped...having seen maybe six clips from the season...it simply wasn’t funny.
It was like you fired comedy writers, and hired political hacks to write some slant-story and throw six actors in the middle of some political dialog. Yeah...a 2018 political soap opera than an actual comedy show.
I think the crews on the set knew by the 3rd episode that it was doomed. Probably the same feeling on the new Magnum PI set as well. I think the production idiots in Hollywood are burned out and can’t create anything new and fresh.
Hmmmm...who is correct, on this.....Murphy Brown writer, Diane English? Who swears the show is NOT cancelled....or...Hollywood Reporter, who is saying it is cancelled?
I’d like to know what actual (not FakeNews) viewership is/was of this leftist cr@p show.
Well, they are cancelled at my house but this was before they got on air.
I haven’t watched CBS in years. Affiliates need their heads examined.
I watched mere seconds of the new Magnum and turned it off. Knew something wasn’t right about the star and then I read on FR a few days ago that he’s gay. Well, there it is. It’s no wonder it’s being cancelled.
Glad to see Rosanne without Rosanne is also being cancelled. Murphy Brown was doomed before it left the cutting room floor. Hollyweird just can’t produce comedy anymore.
I think the chick who plays Higgins is actually taller than the dude who plays Magnum. Always looks like he’s standing on a box when they are filmed together. It’s mildly entertaining, as long as one avoids comparisons to the original.
It was 43rd in ratings about a week ago; marginal at best.
THis doesn’t really make sense until you realize that it’s all to sell advertising. They’re not in the business of making anything funny or entertaining, that’s a rarity, like The Honeymooners or even Rosanne’s show.
It’s about selling advertising. Nothing more or nothing else.
IOWs Do you:
a. Launch a show with the idea of luring in advertising?
b. Launch a show with the idea of making it quality entertaining first, and if it sells second?
They can’t sell advertising without eyeballs. If nobody watches, the ad rates plummet. And so does revenue. Unless someone is willing to underwrite the loss.
Hmmmmm.....
This had nothing to do with comedy....
It was a bunch of menapausal grandmas demanding that young women 18-29 vote correctly, or they are racist, women-hating monsters.
There is ONLY ONE TOM SELLEK.....
They’ve all been used. People get fatigued by it.
I have not read the either of those shows are canceled. And I do not think the actor playing Magnum is gay.
