The topic in this case was what the government is supposed to do about asset forfeiture corruption.
Remove the topic from the question and simply ask, what is the government supposed to do? The thoughtful answer is that the government is only supposed to do one thing. Protect our rights.
The founders gave government only enough legislative powers to protect us and our property.
I know that doesnt address asset forfeiture corruption but it does illustrate that the founders didnt grant government legislative powers to feed us, clothe us, shelter us, or educate us, only to protect our rights.

As little as possible. Protect America with proper military. Balance budget yearly. Follow the Constitution.

The Constitution clearly says that the Feds role is only to provide for the common defense, manage foreign relations, protect citizens constitutional rights, establish federal courts; apply and explain federal law (in the judiciarys case); and a few other minor issues. No branch of the Federal Government is authorized to handle any other issues. So the federal establishment should be strictly limited to these tasks; all others should be reassigned to the states, local governments, and individual Americans.
Of course, the Congress should adequate finance the few agencies that perform constitutional tasks, while auditing and supervising them, and ensuring that their budgets are well spent. Indeed, the federal government even has a few constitutional obligations, such as defense.

“The government”? We have lots of “governments”; Federal, State, Local.
What is government supposed to do?
Secure our rights.
Establish just laws (”...the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.”)
Administer those laws justly.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Th one thing the gun grabbers don’t want people to know is the 2nd amendment does not only to allow us to protect ourselves from criminal activity but more than that to protects ourselves from the government.
Only what the private sector cannot.

Our government has survived this long because it was only fairly recently that those who lust for power (liberals) have discovered the wink link: the judiciary. Control that and you can make the federal government as totalitarian as any dictatorship while appearing to be "for the people"...
Seems to me the private sector is the one pushing social credit scores.

We have, for far too long, allowed scotus to determine rights. That belongs to us, and the expression of such rights is through both the US and state constitutions.
Through their state and US Constitutions, the sovereign people are entitled to occupy the high ground above the governments of their creation. Scotus obviously did not participate in the drafting or ratification of societys will, the US and various state Constitutions, so from what source does Scotus assert authority to define societal rights? Upon what clause in the US Constitution does the Scotus feed, that it is grown so great?
There is no such clause. As envisioned by our Framers, Scotus was a defensive instrument of society rather than a bludgeon against society. Scotus duty is to protect Natural, Civil, and Political rights. Is the nation to believe a government that famously divides the three natural powers (legislative, executive, judicial) among three distinct institutions would empower one of them to both create and judge the rights of its creation? Who, as a defendant, wouldnt prefer to be the jury in his own trial? Scotus does just that when it judges cases involving rights of its own creation.
Instead of striking down the CA constitutional amendment that defined marriage as between a man and a woman, scotus was duty-bound to uphold it.

If the private sector is violating our rights, it’s the government’s job to stop them. Only the government can do that.
