I’ve been covering extremist organizations and violence since the late 1960’s and only the Weathermen and affiliates (Jackson-Melville Brigade), later as the May 19th Communist organization/Black Liberation Army, and the Black Panthers were the greatest terrorists in the US. About 150 bombings were attributed to the Weather Underground Organization and/or its affiliates in the 1970’s and a few in the 1980’s.
No “right-wing group” has come even close to this.
Oh, I forgot, the Castro DGI/KGB trained FALN and MIR of Puerto Rico and in the US, Chicago and NY esp., Fraunces Tavern bomb killings, were the major Hispanic terrorist group in the US, ever. Rep. Luis Gutierrez was an FALN sympathizer if not actual member.
The Trotskyites committed the least violence of the Marxist Left (they were essentially smarter cowards re the “revolution” because they were cowards and knew that the FBI was continually watching them - as well as the CIA - because they illegally belonged to the 4th International, based in Paris, a Trotskyite organization that supported terrorism, esp. in Latin America.
The Maoists, for all their mouthings and street demonstrations, were, for the most part, toothless tigers, except for one small faction of them during Mayday 1971 (where I almost got seriously hurt from one of their grapefruit-sized rocks), and some of the crazy Maoists of their 1972-takeover of Vietnam Veterans Against the War in Vietnam (Kerry bailed just as the takeover was happening).
Today’s Marxist/anarchists are far more violent “in the streets” (since the SDS/WUO “Days of Rage” in Chicago and the Antifa/Red Bloc/Black Bloc/Communist riots at the World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle about 2000 (organized significantly by a Filipino communist/maoist Walden Bello, by his own admission).
Today we also have another crazy maoist organization, the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) and its fronts, including VVAW, Rev.com, and Refuse & Resist (among other names). These are the ones you see in the streets of DC and other major cities, along with their marxo-anarchist stormtroopers, Antifa.
The Wash. Post never properly covered communist demonstrations, esp. in DC, despite the openly heavy red dominance of them, from the Mobes on Vietnam, to Mayday 1971, counterinauguration protests (Resist Fascism etc), and the openly Stalinist/once Trotskyite Workers World Party demonstrations from the 60’s through 2000s under their fronts, the Peoples Antiwar Mobilization, the All Peoples Congress, IAC - International Action Center set up by former US Att. Gen. Ramsey Clark, and the even larger ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), with a westcoast faction known as PSL, Party of Socialism and Liberation (you have all seen their nicely printed Black & White, Black & Yellow, and Black &Orange signs at every major demonstration in the US including Ferguson, Seattle, Portland, DC, Philadelphia, NY, etc.
Rev. Al Sharpton was one of their top “clergy” supporters.
Never expect the truth from the Wash Post about the American Left. It isn’t going to happen in your life-time. I know. I’ve been reading their Marxist crap since the 60’s and as a street reporter, I saw the same things they did, but they were not allowed to write the truth.

Here are my counts for 2003-2017 (sorry, I’ve not updated this file in a while):
white racist 68 (13.5%)
right-wing 61 (12.1%)
other 75 (14.9%)
left-wing 159 (31.6%)
radical Muslim 159 (21.9%)
black militant 30 (6.0%)
To get on my list, an incident has to be pretty severe. E.g., a person has to be (1) killed or severely injured or (2) injured regardless of severity with some kind of a deadly weapon, or (3) a gun is actually shot or an explosive device detonated or a fire started. (I have other more restrictive categories.) My coding purposefully ignores minor injuries not involving a deadly weapon, mere threats, and civil disturbances. (Which I separately track when I come across them, but I can’t be sure they are all reported; and, I have no ability to tie my numbers on the lesser incidents into the historical sources on which I rely for long-term trends.)
As you can plainly see, there are many sources of violence, including a large number in the “other” category of small subcategories and one-off incidents.
The white racists and right-wing categories involve many individuals who fit the FBI profile: losers. Usually these are unemployed men or men not doing well in school, who are unmarried and without a girlfriend. Some of them are bullies and others have been bullied. I don’t think any of them have ever read Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations or F.A. Hayek’s Road to Serfdom or in any other intellectual way ascribe to a conservative philosophy. But, if you define “right-wing” so as to include white racists, radical nationalists, Nazis, and white prison gangs, they’re right-wing.
If you apply the same thinking to left-wing, then it turns out that the number of “left-wing” incidents is more than twice the number of “right-wing.” This is where the Southern Poverty Law Center and other left-of-center incident counters and I differ. They define away left-wing violence. I could do the same, and define away right-wing violence. What does white racism or Nazism have to do with conservatism? Absolutely nothing. But, white racists sometimes associate with anti-tax groups and with survivor groups. In turn, anti-tax groups and survivor groups sometimes associate with Tea Party groups and pro-life groups. Thus by a string of associations, there’s something of a connection. I don’t like guilt by association, but if you’re going to engage in guilt by association, then apply the same thinking to the left-wing.
If we go back to the 1950s and the early 1960s, almost all political violence in this country was by the Ku Klux Klan and other white racists. During the 1960s, black militants and anti-war groups rose up. Since the 1970s, we’ve had a changing mix. Some times left-wing groups dominated, and some times right-wing groups dominated. From time to time, we’ve had radical Jewish groups, radical Christian groups (usually committing violence against abortion providers), and radical environmentalist groups. Some of these “groups” were lone wolves.
Law enforcement will never be able to put a complete stop to this violence because underlying much of it is spontaneous or unpredictable mental illness. But, we can and must prevent isolated incidents to generate waves of violence.
1) WAPO characterizes all crimes by crazies as right wing violence. Left wing violence is dumped in “other”.
2) No mention of Antifa, SJW or BLM terrorism.
3) The Donald accurately describes reality (border invasion) and is blamed for inciting violence. Mad Maxine, et. al. incitement is ignored.
4) The right wing violence narrative is an excuse to disarm normal people.
Projection is a propaganda tool.
The WaaaaaaaPo is competing with CNN for the Fake News Crown....

doing the math, hate crimes make up 0.08% of all crime. That’s an incredibly small percentage and would seem to show how non-racist, non-hate-crime oriented our country is, when the hate crimes essentially round to zero.

They clearly are taking left wing nuts and labeling them right wing nuts. The same game they have done with the Nazi’s, now considered right wing, when in fact they were SOCIALISTS. That kind of data, you could make objects fall up in a gravity field.

Liberals think they are as pure as the wind driven snow and all violence is by right-wingers.
Of course, if you look at convicts, they’re 99% left-wingers.
