College football rankings for week 14 have been released. Alabama remains the top-ranked team, while Ohio State and Washington made big jumps in the polls.
The Ohio State Buckeyes, who crushed then No. 4 Michigan 62-39, moved up four spots in both the AP Poll and Coaches Poll to No. 6. Michigans loss dropped them four spots to No. 8 in both polls.
Washington, who won at in-state rival Washington State 28-15, jumped up six spots to No. 10 in the AP Poll and moved up five spots to No. 11 in the Coaches Poll. Wazzu dropped to 12th in the AP and 13th in the Coaches.
Texas A&M (22) and Fresno State (25) both moved into the AP Poll this week, while Utah State (14) and Pitt (24) dropped out.

I should have added that signing is the national, letter of intent that occurs now during the early signing period in December 20-22. The next signing period is on or after Feb 7, 2019.
I'm with you. They may stay with The Tide for a quarter or a half but that will be it. And, IMHO, with two losses they would be out of the playoff.
Indeed.
Hayden played with John MacKay Jr and they both played for John MacKay.
Since he left YSC has been trying to find another John MacKay. There is no other John Mackay. No one made the room laugh like MacKay on the LA monday morning press breakfasts. He once was asked what he thought about his defense’s execution and he said he thought it was a good idea.
I blame the athletic department and whats his name in Seattle who bailed on USC and avoid the sanctions from the NCAA. This started with Reggie Bush and USC has never recuperated.
The best two coaches in Cal are the guy at Stanford and rocky long at San Diego State. Put Rocky at USC and they would win conference 3 out of every 4 years. But not glamorous and he’s old.
You’re a bit late. They were gone long ago.
Yes, Spurrier would always give Duke a vote until they lost their first game. However, the coaches poll people talked to him and forced him to stop doing that in the last few years of his coaching career.
My hope is that all of Georgias offensive linemen will be able to play. Georgia may need to use platoons of offensive linemen to keep up with Bamas defense. The game will be an incredible battle.
Norte Dame will get destroyed against the other too 4. Sad that politics and popularity is keeping another qualified team from the top 4. Wait and see the 30+ point blow out of the mighty Irish in the first round, Norhing anti catholic about it. ND had a cup cake schedule. My guess is Clemson will win it out but Roll Tide.
Clemson team is big and strong. I dont think as well disciplined or coached as Bama. Bama still has to get past Georgia and thats 50/50 IMHO. GEORGIA is peaking.
Will be interesting if Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC championship game. The committee doesnt want another SEC/SEC GAME.
“Alabama never chases loose players, they lock them all up and release them from letters of intent without mercy.”
That doesn’t really seem ethical, does it?
Exactly how are those rankings established? Do they use super delegates?
They start the season with Alabama at the top and then the usual suspects right under them. Then they just move them up and down as they lose a game or two.
Tough for a new team to break into the traditional elites. Case in point Central florida.

Also Boise State.
Well said, Conor. May the best team win for the glory of the game and America.
Yes. Not so much now. Fresno
We heard the same thing about Miami and Nebraska
Only way in is to improve the schedule. Make your out of conference games SEC or Big 10/12, instead of directional schools.

Boise State has declined since Peterson left, true. I’m a little disappointed that Washington hasn’t done better. Really admire him as a coach.

Don’t forget OU’s 60-game winning streak. Only time will tell if anyone can play at Alabama’s level.
