When you are one of the most photographed women in the world like First Lady Melania Trump is, there are only so many times you can wear a dress.
Some ensembles are obviously never to be worn again, they are part of a moment in time. Take Mrs. Trumps Inaugural gown from French-American designer Hervé Pierre. Even if Mrs. Trump wanted to wear the dress again (she never would), she would not be able to as the piece is now a part of the First Lady Smithsonian National Museum of American History collection.
Even stand-out, style statements like her recent grey Dior ensemble in Paris will likely never be worn again by Mrs. Trump.
....
Mrs. Trump first wore the number to a March 2016 Republican primary presidential debate in Detroit, Michigan. For that evening, Mrs. Trump paired the dress with a matching blue clutch and a dark navy coat.

I cannot fathom having a dress I wear for only ONE occasion.
I wear it to multiple ones, especially if it’s not the same people and nobody has seen it before.
I have favorites in my clothes selection and people who don’t want to see me wear the same thing twice don’t have to look at me.

She could wear that everyday for a month and I would not tire of it...
Though She would have to change into another outfit next month ...
Hey!
She’s wearing Christian Louboutin...
My second wedding dress did double duty. Since I had been married before I didn’t need a gown. I went with a lovely cranberry colored Laura Ashley frock that I wore again to a Christmas party the following year.
It’s still in my closet. It’s been over 25 years, but I will wear it one more time before I die. Size 6 - I’ll get there one day.
She is an incredibly lovely woman.
Jackie might be a close second.
SHE can wear whatever she wants more than once, with her beauty, grace, and style. Thank God Moochelle didn’t.
That’s a great dress, but it’s marred by that ugly metal zipper up the back. I know that’s the trend right now, but I’ll glad when hidden zippers make a comeback.
Are you a BILLIONAIRE??
Im working on creating a capsule wardrobe using mostly what I already have so each item gets worn often. The challenge of creating different looks with a minimalist approach is kind of fun and I love having space between the hangers even in my small closet. I sometimes wonder if people notice that I wear the same few basic pieces often, but I figure that if I dont track what others wear they probably dont track what I wear.
Until quite recently my kids (and myself) have had almost exclusively second (or third...fourth...) hand clothing. The most expensive items in my daughters closet for the past 8 years have been their dance costumes, each worn once for the recital. Ive gotten used to it, but for the first few years that thought gave me a mild anxiety attack ;-).
“...When you are one of the most photographed women in the world ...”
You wouldn’t know it judging by the total lack of pic of her on the various magazines seen at store check out lines and book store mag racks.
I never wanted to be a zipper more in my life!
OMG! I wonder if there is a collection of the Mooche's boob belts in the Smithsonian.
Ditto on that zipper.
“Jackie might be a close second.”
Jackie might be second, but not a close one. Maybe “lovely”, but not beautiful or even pretty. She did know how to put together a certain style.
Not even remotely close in my wildest dreams.
I don’t intentionally do that but there are a few things I tend to wear a lot so I really should go through my closets and drawers and just ditch what I virtually never wear.
The problem is, here in NYS, you need to have a summer and winter wardrobe with enough between seasons clothes, that being really frugal with the amount of clothes you have is more difficult.
Minnesota is the land of extremes, so I feel your pain. My warm weather wardrobe is tiny-I need to expand it, but with lots of growing kids they get most of the clothing budget.
