A Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Louisville, Ky., has apologized to a mother who was asked by a manager to cover up while she was breastfeeding her seven-week-old daughter.
Sadie Durbin began nursing her infant daughter while she was dining at the American chain restaurant with her family, she wrote in a now-viral Facebook post, when a manager came over and told her to cover up.
“David Mitchell, a manager at the Texas Roadhouse on Shelbyville Road, brought me a napkin and tried lying it over my 7 week old nursing infant's face as he explained that he had another patron complain and that he really needed me to cover up,” Durbin wrote.
“I politely explained to him it is against the law for him to ask me to cover up and that I was well within my rights to feed my baby,” she continued.

I’m an old fashioned guy.
I have no problem with a lady breastfeeding in public. I just ask that they use some discretion. A small light blanket or towel draped across the shoulder covering the feeding child is plenty of discretion for me.
Many times I have been in the presence of breastfeeding mothers. They ALWAYS covered and maintained their modesty. If someone like the subject of the article had flopped out her breast and stuck her brat on I would have asked her if she had no modesty. I would have told her I am neither her husband, boyfriend nor the baby’s father therefore I have zero interest in her exhibitionism. Cover that gland up!
And for the record when I have to scratch or adjust in public I do it discretely or visit the bathroom.

It’s not a compromise at all. And frankly, I’m not the one trying to impugn a mother’s virtue for feeding a baby, so who’s it really “all about?”
Sure, you can have a different opinion, but when you pull accusations out of your poop chute to malign those who won’t submit to your parochialism I see little difference between you and a muslim.

There are multiple ways to feed a baby, and modesty certainly does NOT mean forcing the rest of society to adapt to what you are comfortable with.
I know this will be hard for you to digest, given some of our past (ahem) “disagreements” vis a vis “women’s behaviors,” but I fully advocate what I refer to as “the mommy exemption.” That is, when it comes to a woman breastfeeding her child...MIND YOUR OWN FRIGGIN BUSINESS!
Perhaps MODESTY would have been the preferred word!!!

Bit of a stretch comparing a breast with a sexual organ. Both mammal sexes have breasts. Maybe I could get on board when they make 300lb men with Moobs like 40DD walking around the beach or shirt off in the summer a wigglin and jiggling in all their glory. Till then, I think most women are modest enough to be discrete, some aren't. Just don't look. Probably not many men get all worked into a sexual frenzy at the sight of a milk engorged breast any more than they would over Manuels sweaty orbs as he's shingling a roof in the sun.
And many of those suggested ways are rightly objectionable, but God knows you shouldn’t be put out for the sake of an infant....
