Saudis have always run a brutal dictatorship. We needed the oil. They owned the Bushes. We looked the other way. Obama bowed before them literally.
We look the other way with China, which is an even more brutal dictatorship (in terms of murdering their own citizens).
Why is the CIA leaking stories to CNN about Jamal Khashoggi's murder?
Why is the MSM running story after story about this to shape American popular opinion?
I'm confused why they want me to care.

Saudi Arabia is a country named after the ruling family. And the founding of Islam. Islamists hated the ruling family. The two came to heads a few generations ago, when Wahabbism reared its head. Wahabbism is the worst form of Islam, revolving around sharia law.
So they made a deal: Wahabbists can spread their backwards brand of islam outside the country, but not inside. It is an uneasy truce. Leave the ruling Saudi structure alone; spread your 7th century lunacy elsewhere around the world.
The Muslim Brotherhood is the head of the Wahabbist movement. CAIR, etc., reports to them. The Muslim Brotherhood established beachheads around the world, including the US, to spread sharia law and its philosophy of Wahabbism.
Tons of cash is behind the Muslim Brotherhood, to build mosques and schools, fund elections, wage lawfare, etc. And they embedded people in power structures, such as John Brennan and Valjar, and their sycophants like Ben Roades and the Washington Post. Lots of the money came via Prince AlWaleed and buddies.
MBS got with Jared Kushner and together they decided to stop the spread. AlWaleed and buds were arrested, wealth confiscated, and read the riot act. Funding for the Muslim Brotherhood is drying up. This drives the Wahabbists nuts, in the US and elsewhere. So MBS (and Kushner) must be stopped.
Khashoggi was a Muslim Brotherhood guy, against MBS.

This is another attack on Trump. They, the Democratic Media Complex and the Deep State, want to make Trump look weak and bad.
They want him to make decisions based on rumors they feed him.
Maybe they believe the Saudis can bring down the Trump administration when nothing else has worked.
If they can get Trump to go after the Saudis the Saudis will retaliate economically and with oil crashing the economy.
Trump is then blamed for everything after that.

IMO it is all about IRAN. Take your pick between the Saudis and Iran. Th US withdrawing from The Iran treaty is a great big sore point with the UN and the European Union. I’ll take the Saudis over Iran any day of the week. In the mideast power play you have to pick one or the other.
There is a certain conspiracy theory out there which offers a plausible explanation, but it can’t be named here.
The relevant part of it is, certain powerful entities were laundering money through Saudi accounts so the flow of cash would be lost in a torrent of a wealthy nation state, and they were receiving financial and other help from the Kingdom in their activities, in a sort of business arrangement. Back when that was in effect, the lowly employees of these powerful entities, like Bush would kiss Saudi ass and cover for them in the country after 9/11, and Obama would kiss their rings and bow, and the media, which was also owned by these entities, would fall in line as well and not make too much noise.
Trump, who these entities tried to take out with the FISA stuff, and some patriots in intelligence, made a deal with Crown Prince Salman to have him take over and eliminate the influence of the old guard Saudis who were a part of the old ring of powerful entities. Salman took their power in a massive purge of corruption in the Kingdom, and now the powerful entities, that still control our media are on the attack, trying to regain their money laundering hub and its financial assistance.
The theory fits the evidence as good as anything I have seen. Plus, it generates such weird passions, even on this site, I tend to think it at least should be watched with an open mind.
Because the Deep State doesn't work for us, it wants to rule us, and the Partisan Media Shills do what they're told.

I don’t know, but I know I don’t like Saudi Arabia because they are a fundamentalist Islamic state under Sharia law, and if you practice Christianity there, they will put you in jail.
The Saudis are an important ally against Iran and in the War on Terror.
Trump has to balance the lives of all Americans against the death of a Saudi citizen, who was actually hobnobbing with the Muslim Brotherhood.
