Study: Men with beards are more attractive

A new study shows men who have full beards are more attractive than men who are clean-shaven.

The study was published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology.

Researched asked more than 8,500 women to rate men on their attractiveness as a long-term romantic partner, Yahoo News reported.

Here’s how the facial hair rated:

1. Heavy stubble (10 days)

2. Full beards

3. Light stubble

4. Clean-shaven

“Beards may be more attractive to women when considering long‐term than short‐term relationships as they indicate a male’s ability to successfully compete socially with other males for resources,” the study concluded.

Beards, the researchers said, are associated with a man’s age and masculine social dominance.

This must be a generational thing. I think beards look awful (especially on me), and I've never had a relationship with a woman who ever said she liked them.

I don't shave every day if I can avoid it, so 2-3 days of stubble looks and feels OK to me.

Really? I don’t find full beards or the man with one attractive at all. I’ve always thought they were for unattractive men to hide their plain faces. In some cases, a close cut goatee style beard can be attractive but I still prefer a clean shaven look.
