Two years after the brutal, execution-style slaying of eight family members in Ohio shocked the nation, authorities announced Tuesday that four members of a different family had been arrested and accused of carrying out the murders.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said the suspects -- a husband, wife, and their two adult sons -- were arrested in connection with the Rhoden family murders.
"Following an extensive investigation by my offices #OhioBCI and the #PikeCounty Sheriffs Office, we have arrested four people accused of the murders of eight people in Pike County on April 22, 2016," DeWine tweeted.
The four suspects arrested were identified as: George "Billy" Wagner III, Angela Wagner and sons George Wagner IV and Edward "Jake" Wagner.

Motive?....................
Maybe they were competing for marijuana dealership customers? Just a guess on my part.
Cue banjo and harmonica music.
Jake Wagner, 26, was a long-time former boyfriend of victim Hanna Rhoden and shared custody of their daughter at the time of the massacre.
The Rhodens were found dead in four separate homes on the farm. Autopsies from the Pike County Medical Examiner showed that all eight victims died of gunshots wounds and evidence of a struggle. Some of the victims had shown soft tissue bruising, indicating that they fought their killer or killers, according to the medical examiner’s report.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said at the time the said the murders were a “pre-planned execution.” Authorities have yet to give a suspected motive for the killings.

Someone got ripped off I bet, or perceived they were ripped off.
Hatfields vs McCoys....
The dead grew pot. Sounds like some very minor drug lords got pissed off.
Trailer Trash all. That George the third is scary looking.
How convenient, wrapping this up just before he leaves the office. Was he afraid the new AG might find out the real truth? So it wasn’t Mexicans, and it wasn’t Bikers, THINK about it. Can you say the word patsies.
Highly dubious charges. Attorney General Mike DeWine jumped into this case immediately and somewhat politicized it as part of his then starting Governor campaign. These people were on the radar early on but passed over when they allegedly passed polygraph tests. The strong suspicion is Mexican drug cartel as Rhodens were dealing marijuana in large scale. Now that DeWine won the governor’s race he apparently wanted to tie up loose ends, especially where he will not have to prosecute the cases.
Motive? Meth fueled hate or drug turf war. Or both.
Heavily redacted versions of the reports showed all but one of the victims was shot multiple times in the head. The type of bullet used wasn't publicly released. Toxicology results were also blacked out.
Kenneth Rhoden was found dead in a camper three miles from where Christopher Rhoden Sr. was shot dead, according to the Enquirer. He died of a single gunshot to his right eye. ..."
DeWine has previously said that Christopher Rhoden Sr. had a large-scale marijuana growing operation," sparking speculation that the killings were drug-related.
The arrests were the culmination of a massive investigative effort since seven adults and a teenage boy were found shot in the head at four homes in April 2016. ..."
