....Counties that haven’t voted for a Democrat in decades turned out for Beto O’Rourke in his unsuccessful bid to unseat U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, and he picked up enough support in ruby red Republican counties to force Cruz into single-digit wins. ... Tuesday night's results suggest that the Republican firewall in the suburbs could be cracking....

It might even have to go the way of Detroit.

Only Detroit never bounced back.

“I’m convinced this country is going to have to go through a period of pain, like The Depression, before people will wise up.”

Yes. And it will happen in some form. I just don’t know about the wising up part.

Good grief!

I remember when Ft Worth was about as conservative as it got!

It could.

In California we have millions of illegal aliens, but it’s the legal immigrants who are voting Democrat in numbers that overwhelm native Californians.

One of the delusions of the GOP establishment is that planting your feet on American soil gives you the values of the American people. The truth is they too often bring their home culture here. And that culture leans left.

Yep...I’ve been posting/yelling about this, all day.

The Dims are going after the suburban areas....that, for the most part, have been LONG time conservative counties...to turn them blue.

By transporting illegals and IL and CA folks to these areas, we are being saturated.

My local grocery store is now unrecognizable, with these new ‘transplants’.

I overheard a sacker....a SACKER....telling another sacker that he’d just bought a brand new Dodge Charger. How does a SACKER, at HEB, afford a NEW Dodge Charger?

Something ain’t right, around here. Whole lotta walking around $$ being distributed.

Paging Gov Abbott and AG Paxton, stat!!

Houston and Harris County was overwhelmed by a localized blue wave. It’s downright frightening but if you look around you understand why.

If there’s EVER a Sheila Jackson Lee for Senator fundraiser in my old neighborhood, I’ll be tempted to ask the Governor to send in the National Guard.

...(If he/she/its still a Republican)

It’s a spreading phenomenon, like the way cancer spreads and kills the host.

Pretty soon conservatives will all have to live in rural enclaves.

Excuse the crepe hanging but this trend is real and it appears to be accelerating.

I saw that. I was dismayed to see that my county has gone from red to dark pink. We have lots of hispanic people and probably includes a good deal of illegals....like every other town in Texas!

Sick to think that Fort Worth and Fort Bend County have turned commie/lib.

Texas GOP better answer this (late) wake up call. They were first notified in 2016.

Uhm ... No.

The author’s assertion is wrong, as far as it relates to Texas.

Governor Greg Abbot won his reelection with over 70 percent of the vote. Ted Cruz should have had the same margin. He failed to do that because he is widely disliked - not because he is a Republican, but because he’s an a-hole.

The reason Cruz won by only 5 percent is indicative of how much he is disliked - mainly for reason of his despicable behavior during the 2016 election.

Most Texans know that Cruz is a POS. The fact that this Republican senator nearly lost his seat, while the popular Republican governor won by 70 percent, is not indicative that Texas is going “blue,” by any stretch; but rather it is the voice of Texas saying: Hey Ted, you’re a despicable a-hole.”

“Dang those west coast refugees! ”

You don’t think it has anything to do with all the illegal Invaders?

I escaped mexifornia. Texas isn’t much better as far as feeling like you’re not in the US.

Dang, onyz. Until I saw the last line of your reply, I thought I’d hit FReeper Gold, and got Maha Rushie himself to comment on my thread!!

This old 70 year old heart can’t take as much stimulation as that. (Just ask my 65 year-young wife)

“I like Cruz personally, he does seem to rub a lot of people the wrong way for some reason”

That’s because he’s an asshole.

From time to time, Texas has had an influx of many other people from other states for jobs. Over the past few years, Texas accomodated very large numbers of people who originated on the west coast and in the northeast.

Exactly.....same with California....and Florida....the big Electoral college states.

Latin America continues with their repopulating the USA...and the left is very happy about this. The more who are dependent on the Government the happier they are because the left is always about the poor victims and keeping there.

It's a new generation of voters raised on celebrities and E! and TMZ and the Kardashians. Beatoff O'Rourke is cool. All the cool kids like him. If you don't like Beatoff, then you aren't cool. If you don't like Beatoff, your Facebook "friends" will unfriend you.

I have friends in California who say that their area has become so populated with Hispanics etc. that they don’t feel like they’re in America anymore.
