In a word..."mixed". There was alot of US House "dead" GOPe Wood cleared out last night chief among it was "Speaker" Ryan and his ilk. Let face it the loss of the House really SUX, BUT we HAVE to get to work NOW on the 2020 Election! Get REALLY good solid candidates recruited NOW. The Dems WILL overplay their hands(they ALWAYS do) and they WILL be dumped in 2020! Silver lining, WE OWN the Senate!

this could also be seen as elites/insiders/globalists - screwing the voters/ constituents that had audacity to elect an outsider to be president

I’m with you. At least in my district Riggleman beat out the carpetbagger. but Corey Stewart that guy is finito as a statewide draw.

435 * .67 = 291

The House can't override a veto if the Republicans vote no.

President Trump is going to beat Pelosi like a rented mule.

Yeah, I know this midterm was an uphill battle given the historical antecedents, and put me in the camp that gives Paul Ryan and a buttload of GOP(e) types a great deal of "credit" for flipping the house, but the amount and intensity of advertising (both paid-for and in-kind thanks to an absolutely owned media) from the Dems was relentless. They spent leftist billionaires' money like drunken bolsheviks. Around here it was absolutely seamless and hugely effective in - if I may be blunt - brainwashing those who shouldn't vote but do it anyway. In the best times, it's hard to fight people who not only buy ink by the bucketful, but whose family also owns the ink factory.

Were it not for Donald Trump working his ass off (as usual), there really would have been a blue wave that would have had people here on FR jumping out of buildings rather than venting this AM. He and a handful of others kept this from being worse than it is (and it IS bad enough, I know).

Ryan, some other ex- (or soon to be ex-) congressmen, a number of RNC/NRCC hacks, about every so-called "Republican strategist" enabled by our ministry of propaganda (most irritatingly by our "friends" under the Murdoch family umbrella), a high percentage of "conservative" LDS "luminaries," etc did this nation no favors over the last two years, and they po'-mouthed this midterm right up to and including the end. With friends like these, our enemies are always have a leg up.

VA may be toast. Yes, The red states need to do what the Demonrats did to VA and redistrict them into a solid red states. Don't be shy about it. Use every dirty trick in the book.

The VA house is 51 - 49 and the senate is 21 -19 We need a Republican Governor to go with that slim majority and we can start to rebuild. The gov is term limited to one 6 year term so we have a chance.

PS:The Republican national committee didn't even endorse Stewart for Senate. How F'd up is that?

Don't shift left - shift right!

"90% negative coverage for two years will do a lot. This shows the media still has a lot of power"

They are still the number one enemy.

Perhaps they need to be engaged more often? Ted Cruz is very good at this- Engaging liberals in debate and explaining why our Constitutional system is best.

I just don't feel very hopeful at this moment that we will survive as a nation long term.

I mean here in Cali, we voted for poop and used syringes, not to mention high taxes, high crime, and sanctuary cities.

While the guy running against mayor poo and needles, John Cox, had all the charisma of a garden gnome, you would think people would still vote against feces and discarded heroin needles?

But nooo, our Idiocracy of a state votes for mayor Poop of San Francisco to become governor Poop of California. Awesome! 😠

I think not resolving the healthcare issue hurt a lot and you can thank the RINOs for that, especially McLame. And we can also thank the media and the MCMs (media controlled morons) who take the word of the media as the word of God.This election shouldn’t have even been even close, democrats should have been obliterated but it’s an uphill battle because of those things. What really ticks me off are the millionaire celebretards who pounded into the MCMs constant false information. These mofos aren’t going to feel the effect when the Rats start doing everything they can to destroy the economy and jobs solely to hurt Trumps chances at reelection. They got their money while the average American with a family to support is going to be treated like collateral damage as the Nutzi Pelosi said.

And the people of Iowa go back to voting for crazy, lying socialists.

The dog returns to its vomit. Nothing has changed since Harold Hughes.

Ditto. If I lose my employer health coverage and can keep my income below 400% FPL, I can get premium free Bronze coverage at my age.

Ironic isn’t it. Romney derided the 47% when he ran for president now he relies on them.

The Squish Caucus in the US Senate is dead.

Corker - Gone and replaced by Blackburn
McCain seat filled by McSally

MO, ND, MT, ID - None of these are members of the Squish Caucus

Squish Caucus now consists of Collins, Murkowski, and they picked up Mitt Romney.

In order to threaten anything, they need to pick up four fellow Republicans, because Pence can break the tie. There are not four additional Republican Senate Squishes to be found. I don’t think there is even one.

The Republican Senate Squish Caucus is no more.

AND GOOD RIDDANCE!

Have you checked out your own state of Virginia lately?

It's a mess. But we have actually have a chance in Northern Virginia. Herndon, Prince William, Manassas, and other bedroom communities have barrios full of illegal rapists (or would-be). Nobody likes that although liberals pretended it was more important to impeach Trump over imaginary crimes. All the Republican has to do next time is say they will work with Trump to actually reduce illegal immigration. It's simply common sense.

Wexton, the new D rep, has to choose whether to go along with obstruction and resistance and be a one term Congresswoman. Obviously we also need to do a better job in the R primaries to weed out the squishes. Corey Stewart did a decent job but he needed more support. Many Republicans were too lazy to even check him out and he was the lead on our ticket.

Not really, the VA house and senate is still a slim R majority and a new Republican governor can turn it around and redistrict the R’s back to majority. We’ll see.

See Post #115. The voters may have blamed the GOP for not "resolving the healthcare issue," but I don't. Any attempt to "resolve" it only makes it worse.

Give it another two years and the same voters will be electing Republicans again.

Corey Stewart that guy is finito as a statewide draw.

Corey is great and had to fight the Post and the rest of the establishment. He couldn't do it alone but many Republicans didn't turn off Netflix and get up off their couch long enough to check him out.
