It’s the chosen vs the damned dichotomy. The envious don’t like it when the Jews claim to be the chosen people
People hate Jews because the latter were chosen by G-d and they weren’t.
Because they are always a minority in any society and the obnoxious ones stick out a lot more.
The hatred of Jews (Hebrews) goes clear back to Abraham.
The main reason? COMMUNISTS.

Thank you for posting this. I watched the entire series.
My best friend in grade school was Jewish. He has been a lifelong friend, but as he has gotten older he has gotten more and more annoyingly liberal to the point that we don’t get together anymore. I once told a person sitting next to me on an airline flight who for some reason brought up Judaism that the older my friend gets the more he resembles the Jewish stereotypes that he despised as a youngster. It turned out that the guy was a Jewish lawyer and he gave me a ration of crap after that.
We have other Jewish friends. They are almost all liberals.

Mark Twain explained it perfectly in this piece. Best explanation I have ever seen.
People hate Jews because they hate themselves.
Thanks for the link. The Pinker talk is interesting. It’s long, but if you listen to the end, he pretty well dissects a big chunk of modern leftism. Pinker doesn’t push the talk in political directions but the implications are unmistakable. Given his own politics, I wonder if he’s reconsidered any of the views expressed here. (The talk was given in 2002.)
I never figured out Jew hating. Personally, I see not difference between a Jew and anyone else.
Case in point, in the Army I was assigned a room mate. We went out together during off duty time, drank together, and became good friends. One day this guy floored me and asked my why I don’t hate him, I asked why, he said because he was Jewish. I had no way of knowing, he never had it tattooed on his forehead. Finding out this guy was a Jew never affected our friendship.
