Dodge has summoned another monster from the underworld.
The latest is a new 1,000 hp engine called the Hellephant thats based on the brands Hellcat supercharged V8 and will be offered as a crate motor for custom car builders next year.
Its name is a tip of the hat to the original Elephant 426 Hemi V8 from the 1960s, and the new engine features an aluminum block with a bigger bore and stroke than the 376 cubic-inch Hellcats that brings it up to a historically appropriate 426 cubic-inches.
The engine mixes parts from the engines found in the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye and Demon with its own high-lift cam and forged pistons. A package that includes a power control module and all of the wiring and sensors needed for installation is offered with it, and a front end accessory drive kit is also available to make the process as easy as possible. This is assuming you have a pre-1976 car to put it in, as its not street legal in anything newer than that.

lol
Getting the power to the rear wheels without a slipping clutch would be a real issue. The adequate clutch would likely not be much fun in stop and go traffic.
In the early 1970s a true dyno pull of 1 hp per cubic inch was a very 'hot' engine. Anything north of 1.5 hp per cubic inch was a race motor. So a street-able motor with 2.35 hp per cubic inch running on pump gasoline is very impressive.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
Ride both all night?...
ROFLMAO!!!
Car unless the girl uses a dual exhaust...
lol
Oh, baby.
A friend has a 65 classic Mustang, which he just dropped a 500 horse 427 Chevy engine and tranny into!
I wonder if it will fit in my classic Isetta???
I never thought I would say this but this is getting ridiculous.
When I was in high school I wanted a fuel injected corvette or an XKE.
Neither of those would even be close to that monster. BTW, I still think the XKE convertible was the most beautiful car ever.
I saw a very simple but beautiful car in the movie “The Birds” either yesterday or the day before. It was an Aston Martin sports car. Tippi Hedren was driving it which didn’t hurt. Still beauty doesn’t need to be outrageous.
Now that’s the spirit!
Did a photo shoot based upon the origin mad max road warrior movie with a beautiful model.
Created the costume myself and only wished I could have found a suitable car for the shoot that matched the original “last of the V8 interceptors.”
Photos not suitable for freerepublic.
Anyone who wants to see some of them need only freep mail me and and them swear themselves to secrecy.
I feel its my duty.
LOL!
I built a 327 that was barely streetable, then added a single stage nitrous. My 68 Camaro convertible did some scary twisting. A friend started throwing money on the table until I agreed to put it in his ‘79 CJ. It fit with just some “minor” fabrication. I don’t know how well the chassis/drive train would have held up since he totaled it about 2 weeks later.
Luckily I was in the passenger seat so I was a buffer between him and the bridge column.
Oh to be young and crazy again. I lost the young part years ago.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
Get in the car and chase her down!
ROFL!!
Never expected so many GREAT replies :)
This thread turned a bunch of middle aged men into teenagers again :)
At least for a little while.
