That’s great! I have a friend that is addicted to MSNBC. He says it’s to see what the other side is up to. I tell him to quit watching that crap. Even though he’s a conservative, he’s forever pessimistic and awash in defeatism. I irritate him with my positivism! Hoping our enormous election victory next Tuesday will cure him somewhat. I’ve told him it’s going to happen. He hopes I’m right BUT...

I quit watching network news election eve 2012. Cancelled my local paper before that and cancelled my cable since then. Besides saving money, I’m much happier! Q coming along added to my happiness! HRC and Hussein in prison will make me ecstatic!

I've found that I am better informed by tuning out the national news media because most of the stuff they are peddling is garbage for the most part. Plus, by NOT watching or listening to them serves to take away their power and I am able to keep myself incredibly positive. :)

Yes. this is quite legitimate where records were destroyed... all too common in Virginia - Revolutionary War, Civil War... But 'No', Wharton Dickinson was a shyster genealogist it turns out. I actually found a handwritten ms of his in the NYC Public Library - one of about four known to exist. None of them agreed with each other on much.

Yeah, it really isn't hard to stay informed about what liberals are doing. We're bombarded by their propaganda machine constantly from every direction. I do read some of their articles, especially ones posted on Facebook, so I can comment on it. When I read a liberal article now, I don't pay much attention to what they say(they're so predictably cliched). I look for what they don't report.

Think about taking on Clement Moore!!!!!!!!!! THAT has been an absolute upheaval. The man who had just bought a handwritten copy of the poem, whose value plummeted when our research came out in 2000, hired a paranormal investigator to attack us in two articles. I've been following your genealogy conversion with fascination.
My wife is the amateur genealogist in the family. She started doing this manually (a lot of hours at the Newberry Library in Chicago) thank heavens for technology.

One of the early faults I found in the research of others is not to record accurately sources: record, date, place, recorder.

She runs across this all the time. She refuses to connect trees or give up much of her own data. What she has found and is frustrated with is, too many people take everything as gospel. She says it's not possible that everyone everywhere is related to stan laurel. :)

She does not put anything into the tree until she has provable documentation. Tons of obituaries\ship manifests\bibles\bone yard\birth certs\baptism\divorce\medical records\photos...etc...

We physically need to work our way back east on her side of the family. We need to cross the Atlantic for my side and the rest of her side.
She found she has a direct connection to "Spencer", but can't tie it to a specific one. (If she's related to royalty, there'll be no livin with her). I can't wait for the roads trips.

Yes, it’s important to understand that the garbage on the site is due to a) it’s automated traffic generated to make the site unsavory to the public and 2) due to the fact that if you are going to have free speech you have to allow distasteful speech as well. It does make it difficult for the more sensitive to lurk there. I, for one, think it’s funny. Their invective makes me giggle. Literally.
