The system that delivers all that water is called the Ignition Overpressure Protection and Sound Suppression (IOP/SS) water deluge system, and seeing it in action is very impressive.

That much water and they could use it to launch the rockets..
Remember the old water rocket toys?

To: DUMBGRUNT
I could use something like that to clean my kitchen.

Just for reference, a standard Olympic-sized swimming pool holds two-thirds of a million gallons.

Very impressive engineering! Now all we need is a launch vehicle...

I could have been a plumber I told my plumber that he wears better suits than my banker; he said he couldn't afford suits like this when he was a banker.

I see massive pressure and volume.
Where does it come from and what gives it the push?
 Curious.
The video shows the results but shows not how it happens, it’s mighty impressive.

For the first Shuttle launch, they didn’t use enough water and the shock wave from the solid rocket boosters bent back the body flap on the orbiter beyond limits. The problem should have been fatal during reentry, but obviously wasn’t.
