Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.

During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.

"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

Those who came here as legal immigrants have certainly contributed to making our country the greatest country ever. They came to be Americans and to have their descendents be Americans.

We will lose our country when we get to a tipping point in the number of people who are here, not to value the freedoms that make America great, but to bring their own cultures and way of life to our shores.

Early in his Presidency, PDJT offered a DACA deal for almost a million official DACA people plus others who could claim to have been here that long. He wanted an end to visa lottery, curtailment of chain migration to spouse and minor children and the wall plus, IIRC, a stay in immigration for about 5 countries where people could not be vetted properly. Not even Republicans would support him on this.

I see this flood of Central Americans as similar to the huge increase in the sale of guns after each election of Obama. People who wanted to have a gun feared that the window on their purchase might be closing. These Central Americans see that the window on their coming illegally and getting birthright citizenship for their children may soon be closing with Trump in the White House. I hope that they don't get in and that they are correct about Trump.
