I agree with your opinion. It’s my opinion that whoever concocted this whole thing isn’t the sharpest knife in the kitchen.
Many of the bad Fibbers are gone. From what I’ve read, the lower echelons are more good ones than bad, most bad were in higher positions, and many are gone/neutered. :-)

I would bet that fans send many lumpy gifts to their favorites. And with computers so prevalent, I would think few labels are handwritten anymore. The suspicious aspect, in my mind, is the lack of a cancellation on the stamps.
