Whatever Happened to the Mueller Investigation?
Me | 10/9/2018 | Me

Since the Kavenaugh hearings exploded the Mueller investigation seems to have evaporated from the news, so where did that thing go? Is it over? Was there some sort of resolution?

My guess is that Trump was never even close to being in danger of impeachment.

Allowing the witch hunt has been Trump’s choice all along - a combination of two things that benifit him: 1) the willingness to be transparent and submit to scrutiny is a good optic and effectively silences his critics. 2) the witch hunt is a distraction from the important agenda items and campaign promises that Trump has been checking off his list.

If push came to shove over Russia/impeachment (which it won’t), the Republicans in the legislature would have Trump’s back, just as they did with the SC confirmation. The DOJ, FBI, etc., wound have his back, just as they did with the SC confirmation.

The Democrats and the MSM would align against him, but with zero bipartisan support from the Republicans and intelligence community, their partisanship would be blatantly obvious, just as it was with the SC confirmation.

Exposing their blatant partisanship to the American people is a very bad look for the Democrats, as the SC confirmation fiasco aptly demonstrates. The same thing would be true if they tried to push the Russia-Russia narrative any harder than they already have.

The Kavanaugh confirmation provides an accurate bellwether of how the various forces would line up if the Democrats tried to escalate the Russia witch hunt - they would lose - Trump would win.

I think the real reason Trump has been so passive about stomping the snot out of Mueller, is that Mueller has been road kill for a long time, and Trump prefers to leave the stinking carcass in the road as a warning to other deep state players who may want to challenge him.

Mueller et al are busy Burning and burying the evidence trail that they have left behind. According to the plan Trump was supposed to be gone by now, Pence too. So it’s cover their ass time.

And every time Iopine that PDJT is running a great risk allowing or continuing the mueller business to continue and continue — someone tells me mueller is on pdjt’s team or that PDJT knows what he’s doing it’s all chess. I don’t get those arguments. There’s nothing visible. No evidence to support them. They sound like wishful thinking. And we taxpayers are paying for all this mueller stuff too.

Trump showed him the hatch and asked him if he wanted to find his own home, or cooperate. Are

I think Mueller is an absolute snake. Trump should be completely suspicious of the guy.

Trump has at least one arrow in his quiver against Mueller. Four prosecutors have left in the last month “unexpectedly”.

Trump flagged their departures weeks in advance, in a tweet that labeled Mueller’s operation as staffed by totally corrupt and conflicted people.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1027585937163931648

I suspect that in the next week or two, we will learn the real reasons why those four left, and I doubt the reasons will bring credit to the DOJ.

Like Trump says: Stay tuned !

“Trump should predict it, to mitigate its effect on chumps.”

Even better, Trump should warn Mueller that if he tries to do something like that, he will appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Mueller for trying to improperly influence an election!

He’s got nuttin’ so they are just padding their billable hours until the axe falls.

Can we get a refund when the ‘report’ is one page that says “We found nothing.”

Something will pop up just before the midterms to try to influence the vote

In an objective world investigations would be made public so that the COULD influence the election. Think about it. Hillary gets re-elected and then we find out she really is a criminal.

George Soros has a limited staff, so he had to pull some folks off the “Mueller Investigation” to work on the Kavanaugh smear campaign.

You overestimate the discernment of large swaths of the American electorate. The last hour news about the Bush slow drunk driving incident decades prior to the 2000 election almost gave Gore the Presidency. THIS electorate is far and away the dumbest, and most brainwashed, in my lifetime.

No, I do not overestimate the lack of discernment and dumbed down state of the American people. The lack of discernment and ignorance is one of my pet peeves.

I don’t need to be told something like that, thank you.

All I know is that the re-packaged Cap Weinberger indictment by fiend Lawrence Walsh stopped H.W. Bush’s surge against Clinton dead in its tracks on election eve weekend. This, despite how transparent the strategy was to you and me, if you are old enough to remember this election.
IMO, a Mueller report will focus dummies’ attention on this before the election.

I understand.

I’m almost 68.

I’ve been interested in politics and have been involved for a long time. I think what got me most interested and aware was when Ronald Reagan called my Dad and told him he was going to run for Governor of California.
