Since the Kavenaugh hearings exploded the Mueller investigation seems to have evaporated from the news, so where did that thing go? Is it over? Was there some sort of resolution?

It is not over. I fully expect that after the midterms, mueller will make his move. It is even possible that if the midterms start looking really bad for dems, he may pull the nuclear option. That would be making charges against Trump before the midterms.
It’s winding down, and most of his crew have resumed their old jobs back at the DOJ..................for a while................
