WH Travel Pool Report 1

Marine 1 set down at an unseasonably warm and muggy Joint Base Andrews at 1605 and rolled across the tarmac to about 200 feet ahead of the parked Air Force 1.

President Trump climbed out and walked to the boarding stairs, waving to reporters but not stopping to take questions.

He climbed the steps to the forward door and entered the plane at 1610.

Trump is traveling to a political rally for Republican congressman Mike Kelly in Erie, Pennsylvania, notwithstanding Hurricane Michaels landfall a few hours earlier in the Florida Panhandle. Trump earlier at the White House said the decision to go was a quandary but that he did not want to disappoint the thousands of people already there. [See in-town pool report from earlier for details.]

Trump also sent an explanatory tweet regarding his decision at 1552, just before leaving the WH.

Also traveling with Trump were aides Stephen Miller, Dan Scavino and Johnny DeStefano.

The longest runway at Eire International Airport is only 8,400 feet, so we are taking the smaller, modified 757 for todays trip.

Flight time is about 45 minutes, and we should be airborne shortly.

Something is just not right about her (Laura).

She makes very lame attempts at humor, that repeatedly fall flat (she and that Raymond Arroyo guy tried to do a comedy routine, the other night, that failed badly...embarrassing) and she talks over guests and criticizes the WRONG guys/side.

The president spoke to the traveling pool for two minutes after landing in Erie.
he said the Fed has gone crazy when asked about the market drop, saying they are too tight he said it would have been very unfair to the people who wanted to see the rally for him to have canceled.

The White House shared the following statement, after the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 831 points today:

In response to a question about Rod Rosenstein’s attendance at this afternoon’s bill signing, White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters said, “He was at the White House for a regularly scheduled meeting.” Rosenstein’s named did not appear on a White House list of expected attendees at the ceremony.
For those who have asked: I’m still working to confirm that President Trump was referring to Jamal Khashoggi’s fiancee when he spoke in the Oval Office about receiving a letter from the missing Saudi journalist’s “wife.”

This proves the point Dem’s are delirious over their loss of power. So be it.

After Kavanaugh’s confirmation, Nancy Pelosi sent out a message to her radical supporters in which she declared, “We have to show Republicans that we will never forget and never forgive.”

As mentioned, Trumps full quotes coming.

Air Force 1 touched down in Erie at 1717 following a 55-minute flight that never even climbed much higher than 25,000 feet.

Deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters gaggled briefly, explaining that Trump had confidence in his team handling the hurricane and was receiving updates, which is why he felt like he could attend the rally.

Walters said Trump was planning a visit to the affected area early next week and that he spoke with Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey and Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal during the flight for storm updates.

The president emerged from the forward door at 1725 and came down the stairs to be greeted by Rep. Mike Kelly, in whose district the rally is taking place, and his wife Victoria Kelly.

Pool was hustled into vans while Trump was still shaking hands with a small crowd of supporters assembled near the waiting motorcade.

At 1730, we are underway, en route to the closed press fundraiser and the open press rally to follow.
