WHITEFIELD A huge feral cat problem on Townhouse Road to the tune of up to 100 such felines could affect the health of domestic animals and people who come in contact with them, an animal control officer told selectmen last week.
Ben Cook, a Lincoln County Sheriffs Department animal control officer assigned to Whitefield, discussed the issue at last weeks selectboard meeting, saying hed noticed the problem about two weeks ago. A town resident, however, said it began more than a year ago.

The headline fooled me. I thought it was just one huge feral cat, not a huge number of normal sized ones.

I’m far enough from the creek that the bobcats usually don’t get up this far. Plus I subsidize a large feral tomcat that keeps the local area pretty clear of other predators.

It had elements of the remnants of a bucket of KFC, a big hole and an AR15.

Catch and release - catch them, get them fixed, get them shots, then release them. Remove them and others will just move in.

Catch them and get them neutered. Then feed them to keep away new cats.
Soon, it will be under control.

I took at least 20 to be neutered at the beginning! Now It’s down to 3-outdoor cats to feed and no newcomers because they are territorial. Thank goodness.
