I just got a phone call saying that my Microsoft 10 account has been compromised by any of several foreign sources, and that I should contact the phone number they have to set up a firewall against it being taken down or loss of all information they have on the cloud under this account.
I small a rat.
It’s a scam. Block that number if you can.
Yep. Scam.
If it was really Microsoft, they would’ve just done it.
ITS A SCAM!
Waste as much of their time as possible, and act dumb when they try to get you to go to a certain website
Whatever you do do not send them any money or click on anything they tell you to
Yes, it is a scam. Microsoft Software licenses do not expire.
My Windows 95 Licence Key is still good.
It’s a scam. Either ignore it or call them and have some fun. The South Asian on the other end of the line got quite vulgar with me and finally hung up.
To save time, be sure you have all your bank account information and passwords ready when you call them. /s
Send me your log-in passwords, and I’ll take care of it.
Another one is the group that calls up and wants you to contact them because your Microsoft 10 license has expired. What??
I’m an ex-sports official and about the second or third time I get the call, and after cradling them the first two or three, and they are stupid enough to use a human to do it, they get a blast of my Acme Thunderer whistle before I hang up. Do that a few times, and it will limit their calls to computer ones that I don’t deal with anyway.
These swindle companies use fake ID’s so it is almost impossible to block every number they can use. According to the Federal Trade Commission, FTC, one scammer actually used the phone number of an FTC employee.

You couldn’t possibly block all the numbers in the world one at a time. And they are relentless. So here’s a possibility:
1. Navigate to Settings -> Do Not Disturb.
2. Toggle Manual ON (green slider) to enable Do Not Disturb (DND), or schedule a time for DND to automatically switch on.
3. Tap Allow Calls From.
4. Select All your wished Contacts.
This will cut off all the possible contacts except the ones you selected. But you may be stopping someone you might want from calling you by this. It works, but maybe too well.

100% crap.
Don’t do a thing except change your signin and MS passwords.
Unless you want to screw with them — but you have to be careful since hey might want to revenge on you.
Or, if its possible for you, just dont pick up on unknown callers
Sounds like you enjoyed yourself. Good for you.
Microsoft doesn’t call people, much less in a marble mouthed Indian accent.
I know a Nigerian Prince that can fix this for you.
Ill email you my number. You can call and give me your banking info. I promise to take good care of it
No one can tell you if you have been compromised except possibly your ISP. They have no way to connect your phone # with your computer
What device is this for?
I have been getting scam calls and am wondering if someone has a good prank to pull on them? I want to answer with a plan. So far I just put on talk radio and make them listen for a while.
Send me $100 and I tell you what to do........... (it’s a scam).
