CDC Says 80,000 People Died of the Flu Last Winter in the U.S

An estimated 80,000 people died of the flu and its complications in the U.S. last winter — the highest death toll for the diseases in at least four decades.

The CDC says everyone 6 months old or older should have a flu vaccination.

This year's formulation is expected to work better than last year's.

The flu season can begin as early as October or November.

We saw a TV special recently where this was discussed. They said with a certain flu the strongest people with the best immune systems were dropping like flies. Something like the flu virus hooking up with the strong immune system and making the virus stronger. It was a scary documentary.

Was he no longer a soldier? My soldiers, Marine, and sailor all had flu shots as soon as they were available last year. It was mandatory. My soldiers both got the flu last year.

I was on active duty in the Army from 1977-1982. We got a flu shot every year. They gave it to us on a Friday so that we would be ill over the week-end on our time and back to work on Monday. Bastards.

Correct. I worked for them as a Federal Contractor for seven years, and while I saw some of the typical government waste, I saw nothing Deep Statelike. In fact, when Obama demanded the CDC break the law and issue a firearms injury-and-morbidity report, it almost seemed like the report was issued ON PURPOSE in a way that it could not be used for anti-gun propaganda. It makes some sense just on geography: Much of the CDC is located in Atlanta, GA... and Georgia is a very pro-gun state.

These are not the bad guys.

Full disclosure: I am a public school teacher, and I have never had a flu shot. I have taught for 36 years, and I have had the flu three times. I just had the flu a couple weeks ago, and missed one day of work. The fever was the worst symptom. Other symptoms persisted around seven days. I have a healthy immune system, so I don’t want to mess around with a government vaccine.

She was a retired CDC scientist who studied fun stuff like Ebola and the other hemorrhagic fevers. In fact we learned from her that fruit bats would be the reservoir for Ebola, long before that fact hit the news wires. Anyway influenza was also one of her interests. It may have been her major interest. She was following and mapping any reported outbreaks. She told us that recombinant animal/human flus are extremely dangerous, capable of inflicting a near-extinction event. So when you hear “avian flu” or “swine flu” pay attention, those are the flus that she was warning about. The 1918 Flu was one such flu. During the Ebola scare, I called a friend down in Infectious Diseases (I was a long-term Federal contractor for the CDC), and I asked him, "Is ebola the threat the press makes it out to be?"

He laughed and replied "No!"

I expressed relief and was about to hang up, when he said, "However...."

I listened.

"However, if you want nightmares, I have one for you. China is presently trying to weaponized H7N9, the very deadly bird flu. They are trying to make it easily human-spread, and it has a mortality rate of 30%. That means 1/3 of the population of the world will die, if this thing goes airborne. Devastating to society. We'd probably collapse into a global third-world status, which would kill many more."

I gasped. He went on:

"We've been BEGGING them not to play with this dangerous bug, but they won't listen."

Yeah, I had some nightmares after that conversation.

I’ve been working with doctors all my professional life.

There is not a single thing they won’t do that the pharmas tell them to.

I’ve seen very highly respected, high dollar doctors change their tune after a meeting with the pharma rep.

I trust neither. I need both.

[ I’ll pass. Got the flu shot once and it made me sick for weeks. The left side of my sinuses have never been the same either.

Different strokes for different folks.

It’s just like side affects for the different prescription drugs. Some people get them, some don’t.

I got a tetanus vaccine a few years ago, was sick for three WHOLE MONTHS!!!

And yes I did go back, and the doctor doubted me, but they ran tests.... and MORE tests, finally they admitted to me that IT WAS A REACTION TO THE VACCINE!!!

The scary part is they WANTED TO GIVE ME TWO VACCINES WHEN i got the tetanus shot.... I said I didn’t know if I needed the second one I would have to check my medical records to see if I already had that one before I had recently switched doctors....

I AM GLAD I DIDN’T trust my “Bright Doctor”

Now I am not anti-vaccination,the idea of a weak virus priming your immune system against a stronger infection later is a SOLID PRACTICE!

What I am AGAINST is the vaccine industry CUTTING the vaccines with “Immune System Accelerators” known as Adjuvants.

Sorta Like a cocaine dealer that CUTS cocaine with GOD KNOWS WHAT, this extra CRAP is made to save money but is bad news and can push a person’s immune system into attacking your own body!

Next time my doctor wants me to get a vaccine I am going to INSIST on reading the insert and DEMANDING ( even if it costs more) that I get a NON-ADJUVANTED vaccine or NO VACCINE AT ALL!

No problem! I know him socially (12 years) - kids were at same school, etc - he’s really this great guy. Served his country, no silver spoon type doc here! He always gives us data when he wants us to understand something, and he’s talked about all of the data that supports vaccinizing your kids, especially against the flu.
