Rosenstein Meeting To Watch Kavanaugh... Shined up with tweets about dating Donald Trump, fourth-wall-cracking quips and Roseanne implosion asides, the revival of Murphy Brown is very meta. Yet despite those lofty lunges, the CBS sitcom still led by Candice Bergen just cant grasp the big-picture reality of 2018.
To put it another way, FYI, if you really dont want to tarnish your legacy, to quote Bergens now-unretired TV journalist Brown in the first episode of this de facto 11th season, then hit the reset button on this revival ASAP before irrelevance comes knocking.

What were they thinking?
I didn’t watch the original.......................
—What were they thinking?-—
They were thinking, “How could we make our pathological Trump obsession even more ridiculous?”
What’s nuttier? Reviving this DOA show, or Streisand’s new anti-Trump song?
The vile, man-hating feminist shrews of yesteryear don’t play well with the women of middle America.
I watched the original. Mindless TV watching was something common back then. I remember the show being stupidly Liberal, but I considered it watchable.
I recently watched an old episode. OMG it was bad. Just bad in every way. I imagine the rehash is ten times as bad.
I expected some barbs thrown at conservatives but had planned to watch it until I saw a promo with her saying something to the effect "she didn't want any Trump Supporters". It was easy to cancel the recording and to bypass more liberal crap.
NO ONE wants to watch MEAN OLD NASTY LEFTY LADIES...not even OTHER MEAN OLD NASTY LEFTY LADIES!
At least Rowan and Martin seemed to satirize all sorts of things and people regardless of political stripe. And it also seemed to be that great deal funnier and entertaining. I know it might be a silly comparison, but I would not mind hearing other thoughts on something like this as “Laugh In” was that little bit before my time.
Did....done!
I just saw a clip from this show on the news. ‘Murphy’ was interviewing Hillary Clinton for a secretary position. I guess it was supposed to be funny, because all the news people were laughing and giggling.
The very early ratings (household) numbers are in and Murphy Brown’s household rating is less than half of what Roseanne got for the first episode back in March. The full ratings will be out pretty soon.
Gave it a shot.
Turned it off.
Do not like being called a Nazi.
Lefty virtue signaling can be played for laughs when its goals are a pipe dream and its consequences are invisible.
In 2018, our world is permeated by the unpleasant effects of liberal lunacy, and it’s not so funny anymore.
I never watched the original either. She played the part of a b****. And nothing has changed.
I watched last night's show in order to compare it to Roseanne, both in terms of production value and story writing. I thought Roseanne did a good job of making the show be about the family, with politics being the backdrop. Murphy Brown was the opposite, it was machine-gun politics for 30 minutes.
From an acting standpoint, on Roseanne the actors were comfortable in their roles and interactions with each other. On Murphy Brown, I swear I kept catching sideways glances from all the actors, as if they kept checking their cue cards for their next set of lines. It made for very unnatural interactions with each other.
Finally, and this may be a quirk from the timing of the filming of the premier episode, the scene when they go on the air with their new show had a backdrop of a screen that was supposed to display hot trending topics. Just over Murphy Brown's shoulder we saw the hash tags #SCOTUS followed by #MichaelAvenatti.
That said it all.

A bitter old leftist “comedy”?
They would have to pay me significant money to watch that garbage.
Madame Mal:
Go back to France and live out your days among the Cheese-eating Surrender Monkeys you seem to prefer. Stay out of Hollywood and the USA proper.
Merci.
Apparently a comment was made about emails. Real funny eh, considering that anyone else (particularly a Republican) would be rotting inside a jail cell for what took place concerning that sordid, sad affair.
