How well will the Democrats do in November?

Posted on 09/28/2018 12:13:40 AM PDT by Jonty30

We know that Dems are in being badly led since much of the retirement of the old guard, but how does anybody think they will perform come this election? This is assuming no bombshell revelations about the Republicans that hurts them a lot

Dems will pick up between 25 and 35 seats in the House and 1 Senate seat.

Dems will flip the House, but Republicans will hold the Senate with Pence’s vote.

The House will then spend two years passing incredibly liberal bills which go nowhere in the Senate and the Senate will pass bills that go nowhere in the House while consenting on most of Trump’s judicial nominations.

The House will also investigate the GOP, Trump, and all associated persons relentlessly.

That seat in Texas that turned red after being blue for 139 years said something. I am hoping it’s a red tsunami.

What an absolute silly, no stupid statement. This has nothing to do with the Never Trumpers. How about when they did this to Bork? Thomas? There were no such things as Never Trumpers then. What about the dems’ other outrageous behavior? So stupid of you. I can’t stand blind ignorance.

I think Manchin ends up winning re-election in WV, but it will be close.

The ‘Rats lose Donnelly and Heitkamp, and probably lose Tester and McCaskill. Bill Nelson and Bob Menendez are in trouble, yet I wouldn’t count them out. I wish the GOP would pour some money into Delaware and constantly call Tom Carper out as the wife beater that he is. Another moron that needs to be ousted is Sheldon Whitehouse (this race is a sleeper).

Maybe what happened in the Senate yesterday injects some momentum into the Jim Renacci v. Sherrod Brown and Lou Barletta v. Bob Casey, Jr. races. Also, Geoff Diehl v. Fake Indian.

The sleeper races are in Minnesota. The GOP needs to start showing Keith X Ellison and smug “Minnesota nice” cretin Amy Klobuchar on the same screen. The GOP could be on the verge of a monumental victory in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and this could include flipping three congressional seats (taking out Collin Peterson in the process).

If Flake doesn’t support Kavanaugh, Martha McSally is toast. I’m concerned that his TDS and his anti-Catholic bigotry could overcome him (I sure hope not). My hope that his co-religionists on the committee (Orrin Hatch, Mike Lee and Mike Crapo) talk him off the ledge.

I’m not sure that the ‘Rats take the House. They might win a net 20 seats (I live in a district, VA-10, where the incumbent Barbara Comstock hacked off those 40% of us who are conservative among GOP primary voters and is most likely to lose). I think they will pick off veterans like Pete Sessions, but they might only win 1 or 2 seats in California. There is encouraging news in districts that the ‘Rats thought they would flip, like the Miami area district represented by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (corrupt ‘Rat Donna Shalala is the candidate, but the GOP has a Cuban-American news anchor as its candidate who appears to be a superstar in the making). I think this morning that Lindsey Graham and Brett Kavanaugh may have turned the tide yesterday.

All interesting choices for rallies:

Johnson City: Tri-Cities market, including northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia

Wheeling: WV’s Northern Panhandle, eastern Ohio and southwest Pennsylvania

South Haven, MS: Memphis market, including northern Mississippi and eastern Arkansas, as well as the bootheel of Missouri (starts 60 miles north of West Memphis AR)

Rochester, MN: Rochester-Austin-Mason City media market in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa; also close to Lacrosse WI

He’s getting maximum punch for his rallies, as they each cover a number of congressional districts and states.

How can anybody vote for the party that put us through the last two weeks?

The Democrats are disgusting. I may not love the Republicans, but the Democrats are disgusting.

“Minnesota Nice” Klobuchar: “I don’t have a drinking problem!”

Kavanaugh: “ Neither do I, Senator.”

Then Kavanaugh out-niced the “Minnesota Nice” by apologizing after the break.

“That seat in Texas that turned red after being blue for 139 years said something. I am hoping it’s a red tsunami.”

There were no published polls, but it was clear from the pre-election comments form both parties that the Dems were narrowly ahead.

Final result was 53/47 R, so even the campaign polling estimate of likely voters was off.

The only poll I paid attention to in 2016 was the attendance at the rallies. When I saw the turnout and enthusiasm for Donald Trump, I was quite sure that he would NOT be defeated.

Now he is going full throttle for the midterms. Rallies this Saturday, next Saturday, and three of them in between. I don’t see the dems anywhere - well maybe a 1/3 full small venue for King Obama. That’s what speaks to me.

Wake UP Dave!

This has everything to do with the Never Trumpers and their dumbazz attitudes. If we had their vote locked up for BK, Grassley would not have needed to drag this out and Brett Kavanaugh would have already been seated on SCOTUS...

Kav is a great, very great pick and the NeverTrumpers should have put their distaste for all things Trump aside and immediately endorsed his nomination. Instead, here we are, weeks later after they withheld their support begging them to do the right thing. And they still may not support him as we may need to rely on Manchin’s D vote or Veep’s to break a tie.

Who are NeverTrumpers?
JEFF FLAKEY, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski,...

This delayed vote is about not having the support of our own party members when it should have been there on Day ONE.

They are going to get killed. They have successfully enraged Trump’s base. And we didn’t even thank them.

They will be plus 1 or 2 in the house because of all the retirements and they will lose in the senate.

All they can do now is “vile and disgusting”. They’ve been churning it out since long before the turn of the century non-stop (our cultural changes are no accident), although they seem to have piled it on particularly thick over the past two years.

If BK is confirmed, it will revitalize republicans to vote. There will be a huge turnout because “We aren’t going to take it any more.”

The other side of the coin is if he isn't confirmed. Some weepy concern trolls have said that will hurt turnout because of voter demoralization. I disagree. Even though the GOPe would rightfully deserve some of the blame, it will be the Rats that get stung by the backlash.

I think Republican turnout will be heavy either way, either as celebration that Trump got a VERY significant win, or red-hot anger that the Rats acted in such a despicable way.

There will be no blue wave.
